Thanks for sharing, for reference what was the top time of the day? and by what car?

I like the angle on the camera, but you cant really hear the motor, not a big thing just my 2cents.

We are suppose to run this weekend on a long course typically we can wind up 3rd gear up to about 90mph good stuff I cant wait!

I'll post up some video Sunday.

Top raw time was a 50.405 in a MR2. I'm not real happy about the microphone either - but thats about as good as it gets (Go-Pro Wide Angle). I'm looking at getting a HD, they don't seem to suffer from wind noise.

We used to be able to run at a local oval track before the owner turned it back to dirt - that was fun! I haven't done a high-speed event like yours in a few years.

Were you running R compounds or Street Tires?

What class does the MR2 run?

Locally we are getting dominated by a C5 Z06 on 315 A6s in SS class.

I'm on 2 year old R comps.

The MR2 is ES, run by Robert Carpenter (Nationals winning driver) and his protege. FTD locally is usually a toss up between that car, an ASP Z06, a supercharged Lotus Elise, or a turbo charged Miata.

The driver is a top flight national driver, and I think he used to teach one of the Evo schools. He can extract 11/10ths out of that damn thing.

Our local scene is dominated by 3 series Bimmers and CSP miata's. I'm running ESP in my Bird with 315 A6's and finally broke into the top 15. Out of 95 entries. Yes, there's more than one ZO6 up on the list. Nice run, looks faster and more open than most of our courses. But go figure, the miata/mini guys are the ones setting up the courses.

Cool.....

I've been lucky that the local site doesnt have a wide open area like a parking lot. We have an airport taxi way and it's basically a long T.

That just means alot of the course cant have any long winders or alot of circles.

We get fast cross overs and plenty of slalom work! I love it...because we get to pull 3rd gear.

Imports have a harder time on the long courses. No complaints from me here

Nice..

They do a pretty good job locally making fair courses. That course was set up by a Miata driver, but he did a pretty good job making it fun for the big car guys.

I just started running 315s - so far I'm pretty happy.

Wish we had your pavement! I'm usually just in second gear (at least with the current engine) - I haven't had to dust off third in a local event in a while.

Here's my bird in action! If you want to make the weekend out of it at the beach, we run on the concrete at the Navy base evey third weekend of the month. Best surface east of Topeka!
