Default Pad recommendation for HPDE

I understand for best results you need to change the pads on raceday to a dedicated track pad.

Car has maybe 320 to the wheels(stock with free mods and a muffler)

Koni, Strano springs, 1 LE front bar stock rear bar. Full weight.

Gonna use the stock stuff until I get a few HPDE's under my belt.

I have been told SO many different things............

I have kinda settled on Hawk DTC-30 on the front, Hawk HP+ on the rear and ATE Super Blue fluid.....am I on the right track here?

The tracks the car will see.....

I have no experience on Hawk pads, I like Carbotech. A great Carbotech combo would be the xp 10 front and xp 8 rear, these can stay in and don't need to be swapped for the street. This would be a good setup for at least a year of a lot of hpde, a lot being at least 1/month before you're ready for something more aggressive (xp12/10)

I see nothing wrong with what you are running. Sometimes when the co-efficient of friction is way different in the front pads vs. the rears, the brake balance can be thrown off. If the DTC -30s are working up front and the rear end is not getting squirrelly under heavy threshold braking then I say go for it. Carbotech makes great stuff. If you drive back and forth to the track HP+ all around is a good set up. ATE Super Blue is fine.

Isn't the DTC-30 a dirt track style pad? Not saying it will not work but Hawk does make a road race style pads as well.
Best thing to do is call them.

+1 for the carbotechs.

The Hawk guys recommend the DTC-30's to the F-body guys all the time.. Its a good pad for sure. Good COF, predictable yet somewhat aggressive bite, good temp range, easy modulation and smooth/predictable release.

The DTC pads are a very good option.
