Default IRS for FBody???

I keep hearing all this talk about IRS for cars and how much better they handle on a course. Do FBody owners put IRS on their rides for track or will a live axle do just fine???

Somebody already asked this question recently. I don't know if it will answer your particular question, but here's the link for you to look through.

Live Axles work just as well as an IRS provided the road/track surface is smooth. An IRS will help on a rough surface to maintain traction. Note that NASCAR runs around 200 mph using 9 inch live axles. Usually sold axles are stonger than an IRS as well. Right now my Bro-in-law needs to change the wheel bearings on his Pantera because his big wheels and tires put too much stress on them. That would not have happened with a solid axle because the axle supports the bearings better.
