Default Wheels

What wheels are you guys running? My car isn't going to be a dedicated track car, but plan to run at some local tracks. The 18 x 10.5 I have on weigh to much for me.

I run Forgestar 14's in 18x11. Wheel weighs just under 22lbs. Dressed with 315/30/18 R888's it comes to 52lbs total.

Any history of cracking with those wheels? How's the figtment? Spacers needed? Also would that size be ok as a street wheel that'll see occosanial street use?

I've seen one case of complete failure at the track but Forgestar have redesigned it since then with no issues. No fitment issues, no spacers needed if you order them with the right offset. Don't see why they wouldn't be good on the street, as long as you don't curb the hell out of them

That's good to hear. As far as my question about using them on the street, I was talking the width more than anything. I've read on the internet that anything wider than 275's wanders and tracks too much on the street. Wasn't sure if the Internet was correct or not.

Can you tell me what offset you are using? I'm planning on going with this set-up in a few months. Any pics?

That's what I thought too but honestly I haven't noticed any difference. 315's on the front are perfectly fine on the street, although on really bad roads the car will wander if you just leave it. 90% of the time though it's unnoticeable. I also hear a more aggressive alignment can increase the effects of tram-lining.

+40mm. I could probably have gone higher to get them to tuck more but I kind of like the fat 4x4 look

I run 275s on Z06 17x9.5 fronts. I also run spacers with ARP 2.5" studs. I keep the front right about 74" and the rear about 73 3/4". With the front too narrow, the car plows bad. I don't drive on the street with the Camaro.

OE wheels deep dish C5 z06 wheels 18x10.5, just until someone buys them. I have the original speedline wheels that came on the car, I've been considering getting the sportline ws6 wheels aswell. I have yet to decide which wheel i'm going to run.
