First Track Day of 2017
At Pueblo Motorsports Park, 25-26 March.
My LS1/6 is really nothing special. Almost all GM parts. The cam is Howards version of the GM ASA cam. Heads are slightly worked stock versions. Power is only 410'ish on the chassis dyno.
But it just runs and runs! I'm really impressed with the smooth power production and predictability.
I tend to run out of gear at the end of the front stretch, and have to pedal a little before the braking zone. I have the red line set at 6,500 - which is admittedly conservative. I could use some more rpm, but I don't want to sacrifice reliability.
I could change the rear gears a little. But it's already one of the quickest accelerating cars on the track. Taller gears would give me more speed at the top end, But I'd lose pull coming out of the corners, and would probably have to shift more.
All in all, I'm very happy with this mostly stock, mostly used LS1/6.
