Default Need a good street & launch tire.

I know someone will be able to help me with ideas. I want tires that will be able to handle well in both dry and wet, yet I need something I can launch with, without spinning through 1st and 2nd gear at a stop light. The tires will be for hard street racing, I will get slicks for the drag strip. I'm looking at about 600 RWHP and over 600 RWTQ. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Thanks
Jay

I hate to dissappoint you, but that request is not really possible. First off I have been there and done that. There is not a drag radial that will hold your HP and converter even while attempting to "feather" it out of the hole. I deal with this with my ST3500 and much less HP. Your best bet is getting an ET street for street applications because they are DOT legal and they hook pretty darn good on the street and then get Drags for the track. Don't expect to be able to launch hard on anything besides a Street slick on the street with that set-up. If the street scene is your primary goal , you might try going with a SY3600-SY4000. There a bit softer on the launch. Good luck!

I have heard all good thing about Nitto's 555r. I am in the same boat as you and I will use nitto 555r 315 on the street (hooks and handles) but not the best in rain. I don't know of any rain tire that hooks. What are you doing with a 600hp drag car in the rain.

The Nitto 555r 315's are ok, they hook me up decently in dry weather (just over 400rwhp without nitrous) in 2nd, but not 1st.
