Default SCCA T1and T2 ?

I've been watching some of the SCCA Valvoline Runoffs from Mid-Ohio and the T2 class comes on. Firebirds, Camaros, Mustangs, Boxster Ss, a Supra or 2, and some E36 M3s.

Now T1 is pretty much factory stock, right? Sticky tires and saftey equipment for the most part? But what mods are allowed in T2? Is this the class that uses the GM factory ported heads and the road race cam?

T2 is same as T1, except different cars. Very few modifications allowed. LS1's run restrictor plates.

LS1 F-bodies run a restrictor plate in T2, not in T1 though. There are few mods allowed in either class. Basically you can change tires, shocks, front sway bar, brake pads, seats, exhaust behind the cats, filters and fluids.

Neither class allows ported heads, non-stock cams or even a lid.

Like he said and the ones I have seen have one seat crazy cage and weights bolted to the floor. Oh, and for safty I think tow hooks front and rear and a fuel line in the lower nose. No idea for what?

Oh, And TOM OATS kicked *** in the black and orange camaro. and not so bad in the vette!!!

that's OATES, and yes, he's been champion several times in the T2 class. I got a chance to meet him at an SCCA event in April 2000 and have had the opportunity to help crew for Tiger Racing for the last couple of years. Watkins Glen (fastest lap record), Pocono, Summit Point, Lime Rock and Mid-Ohio. It's one thing to watch as a spectator, it is sure something else to participate as a worker/crew.

Try it some time. SCCA Corner Workers are as close to the action as you can get without being in a car.

Sometimes teams are looking for volunteers. The guy that placed second in the American Sedan class came all the way from the Boston area and had NO crew.
