Quick tire question

Side note- the 335s are going to be rather unhappy under the car. I slaped a couple of 335 R1s on my 17X10.5 inch wheels and they did fit on the car with some minor rubbing. But-they were on a 10.5 wide wheel which made the tread width narrower. I actually think they would fit with a little work with a 11 to 11.5 inch wheel though.
I used the 335s because I bought them dirt cheap and wanted to use them as a "Go/No-Go" before I spent alot on some 315s. I figured that if I could get 335s to work, then 315s would go right on. Worked for me.
As to if they will work good on the 11 inch rim {as in work better than 315s}, try it. The book says min. 11 inch. I have 10.5s and 315 032Rs. Yoko says that the min. is 10.5 and they work pretty good. They seem to wear completly across the tread in a even fashion, I have not checked temps though. I also know they would be better on a 11 inch rim, but I have 10.5s and it seems to work.
Please try it and find out for sure as I've been thinking about getting my rims widened to about 11-11.25 and trying the same thing.
One thing for sure, the 335 R1s didn't like being on a 10.5 wheel at all! Handleing was evil, broke lose very abruptly with no warning. Traction in a straight line sucked because the entire tread could not contact the ground. Let air out and they would cup, add air and the edges would roll up and not contact. They did make good "Burnout" and "Donut" tires!!!
Serious give a try, all you will lose is a couple hundred bucks! That's nothing compared to being the 1st kid on the block with 335s!!!
Yeah the 315s cleared pretty much no problem at all on the GS offset...just a little beating on the inner fender and I ground off the face of the bump stop (I'll probably just go ahead and take it all the way off).
I figured I would have to roll the fenders if I did it. I was just wondering how it would affect the handling of the car by going to a bigger tire and keeping the 11" wide wheels.
