Default Sway Bar Question???

Why are people against the 25mm rear sway bar on our cars? What would be the dangers of driving on the street with S/T 35mm/25mm combo with 275's up front and 315's out back..? I have revalved bilsteins with Eibach Pro kit as well.. I am going to start doing recreational road racing this summer. Trying to get the car setup for it..

I will just say that when I went to order my sway bars from Strano-he recomended that I just run the 35mm front. I asked the same question, I always thought that if you increase the front bar, you would need to run a larger rear to keep the understeer away. He asked that I try just the 35mm front before I tried anything larger in the rear. I tried it and I like it. I may try a 21mm rear just for kicks though.

Hmmm.. I run 275f and 315r and I was wondering if this mattered when it comes to bars.. I figured that the rear would need to be bigger to make the car feel more secure..

275s front and 315s in the rear also. Just get a 35mm front and try it with the 19 rear, that way if you are happy-great. If not go ahead and buy a larger one. I cannot think of anyone having anything good to say about the 24mm rear. A few {mostly road racers like the 21mm}. On my car it does seem like it has a smidge of understeer in high speed stuff. But,,,,that is most likely due to my driving style. I don't have enough experience in the really high speed stuff.
If you really want the 24 mm rear get it by all means, but just give Strano or LG Motorsports a call. I think you will be happy with either of their recommendations. They do differ a bit on their set-ups though. Just two different ways of getting to the same spot. Also a difference between AutoX and RRing.

I am running the S/T swaybar kit and I have 275/40 17's all the way around. I will admit that the tail does get somewhat squirrly but it's so easy to control because when the back slides out it is completely flat and so smooth. With the added advantage of having wider tires in the back I can imagine this setup would be nasty. I can't wait until I get wider wheels and tires in the back.

Think of your front sway bar as decreasing traction at the front. Larger rear tires will increase traction at the rear. This means you will push the front end thru a turn. If you have a larger front bar you will need narrower rear tires to null out understeer.

I'm running a BMR 32mm solid bar up front, a 1LE 21mm solid bar in back with 275/40s front and 295/35s rear. I also have Koni SAs, and all I can say is this is one sweet setup! Almost neutral with only a tiny amount of understeer.
