Default Raced some Porsches

Finally had a chance to try out my new suspension on the road course. I go out with the local Porsche club and race against the clock. The track is probably a mile long as we only race the curvy part of it.

The track starts with a flat out 1/4 mile straight, and then dives into a long left corner. You run upwards of 100 MPH in parts.

Long story short, I raced against all kinds of Porsches - Boxsters, Turbo's, Carerra 4s's 944's etc. (no super cars) and finished #1. Another T/A finished 3rd. Ran the 2 laps of the course in 1:16. A Boxster S finished at 1:17. So it was close, but I only ran 3 times to his 10.

So I'm pretty pleased with the big beast. Was racing at about 3950lbs too Full stereo and stock F1 tires.

Here is a video if you are interested. 2nd last turn got a little sideways

There is an incar vid, but it was just a passenger holding it. So its pretty hard to see what is going on. I'm buying a new 3CCD camcorder and I have a mount constructed already. So next time

Does make ya feel good when you lead a car that costs at least twice as much as yours around a track! I had the same feeling at a Road Atlanta track day awhile back. Gave a guy in a new 911 fits, it was nice out driving him then out accelerating him on the straights.

Here is one from last year. I finished 2nd that time. Totally stock suspension in this vid. Excuse the audio as I had my mic gain set too high.

This was done using a lipstick cam on the roof.
