Mounting a digital Camera?

Mounting a digital Camera? I just got the idea to mount my digital camera in my car(82 TA) for Auto-x. The camera is a Canon PowerShot A250. It's not ideal for recording, but it will help. I'm not really sure how to go about mounting it though. Any ideas?
The screw hole in digital and slr cameras is the same as the ones used in video cameras. I can use my tripods with both video and photo cameras. With that said you can use any of the different video camera mounting systems out there. The suction cup mounts should hold that camera just fine, I would use a teather as well though, and think strongly about mounting it inside the car somewhere.
Still thinking about it....Anyway I wonder if the sticky cups will stick to my Z28 dash.. I would just use my canon digital camera that also takes vids. It is only the size of a pack of smokes. For 40$ I may try it...
