Going to Hallett, OK
Going to Hallett, OK My girlfreind got me a one year membership to Hallett raceway here in Oklahoma, plus everything I need for one of the touring races they run each month. I know its a slight, but if anyone has been there or even ran on the touring series one weekend. I would love to hear your opinion on the experiance and tell me what to expect
Been to Hallett a few times. It's a great track ... flows well. It has it's set of challenges, but it's a great group of folks that run the place. The Stephen's Brothers are a lot of fun and make your weekend a lot of fun.
I'll be out there racing with NASA on the 16, 17 and 18 of June competing in the Camaro/Mustang Challenge.
If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. And, please, if you can, come on out and hang around Saturday and Saturday evening. It's a great bunch of racers and a lot of fun.

My CMC Firebird qualified at 1:30.749 in June on a spec 16" Toyo tire. Results are posted at www.mylaps.com.
CMC rules limit HP to 230 at the wheels and have a minimum weight of 3200 lbs. My car is an obese 3310.
So this illustrates perfectly how much of an impact weight has on a car. The 02 has close to 100 hp on my car and is probably only 300 lbs heavier.

I had 1 recon lap and 3 timed. My second lap, first time at the track was a 1:34. Then the afternoon session they switched direction and ran a 1:36 Clockwise. Not bad for having NO lap ever at this track.
Passenger are cool. I like when they start grabbing for the Brake pedal when you are going into a corner they dont think you are going to make.

If I ever get around to having the Vids converted to DVD I can post them. Mitch they are rather Funny. Basically a Go-for Broke run, Missed turn-in points and a slide or 2.

For what it's worth ... I absolutely suck in T5.
I am giving away minutes of time there. I get cars underneath me into T6 all the time.
I've tried entering slower, loosening the car, changing pressures, different lines, easing on the throttle ... same result each time.

Mitch I think we are in a new club, WE suck at turn 5. That's really a wierd corner I didnt have much time to get it right. I guess a really late turn in and late apex might help. I always ran wide, which pushed me track left and screwed me up for entry into 6.
I went back and looked at the top finishers from 04 OLOA and the winning time averaged with a standing start 1:25. SO I would say a 1:21-1:22 fast lap. On Street tire of UTG 140 Or Higher.
