Default tire combo

thinking of putting the Nitto 555Rs 315s in back with NT01 275s in front. i currently have KDWs in front. how much better will the new front tires handle? i currently understeer a bit.

The Nittos should help with the understeer as they're 100 treadwear, slightly harder (than the RA-1s, 032s, Avons, Kumhos,etc.) "R" compound tires. Are you running them full tread depth? What might hurt you now is the soft sidewall of the DRs in the back, but sometimes (bumpy course, etc.) that can be an advantage. I would run them with more pressure than you would at the strip, but still less than the fronts.

Maybe the real pros can come on here and give you more/better pointers on where to set your Konis, what to do with sway bars, pressures, etc.

closest thing to R compounds I have used, that are considered street tires, are Falken Azenis 615's. Very sticky for street tires.. agressive tread pattern, stiffer sidewall, very awesome on dry roads.. I use them for daily driver tires.. and Avon Tech R's for road courses. 275/40/17's all around

A good tire combo would be all 4 tires the same with suspension calibrations countering any under/oversteer.

I totally agree. But I doubt he's going to get new wheels and tires, so I figured he wanted advice on how to optimize his current setup. He does have some suspension adjustability with the DAs/GC setup. Anyone have suggestions??
