Ran AutoX for the first time... Hey Everyone
Ran AutoX for the first time in the novice class against four competitors and i got first! It was a really small crowd of people but it was a lot of fun.
I just turned 18 and this was my first time really driving the car hard (braking anyways omg
) my car street prepared? Trans AM.
I guess the course was really small, there were some places where length wise i dont think i could fit between slalomns(spelling?) I actually ran the car in first gear the whole way, no time for second. Also some of the guys were joking with me about 'my car wont fit'. my fastest time was a clean 46.70...there was an M3 and a M roadster. running 45s so I race again tomorrow hopin to beat em.
nothin really important just thought it was cool that guys were telling me they went to driving school and were telling me what to do and afterwards they were askin me what to do.
everyone in auto cross is really nice and cool.
def. a lot more fun than drag racing. i think im hooked to autoX now. i dont think my BFG KDWS do tho....

Re: Ran AutoX for the first time... THe KDWS will work ok for a few events. If you get race tires right away, you'll have a hard time learning to use all of the grip you have. Once you get used to "sliding around" on street tires and find out where the limits are, you'll be better able to use the grip of R compound tires. Glad to hear you had fun and great job on the novice win (it takes some people years to ever see any trophies). GOod luck!
