I do it without even thinking about it. The best shoes for my wide 13's are doc martin's or combat boots, LOL. Laugh but I can touch both pedals in my GT with each side of the shoe.

Practice. Get to know your car and practice the shifts. The stock clutch in my WS6 caught a lot sooner than the clutch in my Cobra (Plus, the Cobra is a 50lbs cable clutch!) That took some getting used to!

Rough on the synchros or something? I've been messing with this whole rev match downshifting for a few months now, don't seem to notice any difference in how the trans feels or anything, just curious. Warning signs that things are getting bad? Mostly 5-2 downshifts here.

When shifting you should not shift 5-2, 4-2, 3-1 or anything like that. You should shift sequentially as it is easier on the transmision, you can rev match much easier and you lower the risk of a mis-shift. In racing a mis-shift can cost you a possition or if the transmission fails the race. Look and listen carefully to the videos on this page and you'll see what I'm talking about. Also pay attention on how Lou blips the throttle when down shifting.

You could just double-clutch, and then you wouldn't have to worry about being hard on the synchros. That's what I do.

double clutching does absolutely nothing with our cars. thats only used for when you dont have a synched trans.

It does nothing, yet it's procedurally superior in keeping the drivetrain smooth while braking, downshifting and setting the car up to turn.

Double-clutching isn't NECESSARY with our cars, but it still does the same thing it does in un-synchronized transmissions. He can drop from 5th straight to 2nd if he double-clutches, and it will go in smooth as butter because revving the engine while the shifter is in neutral with the clutch out will bring the gears up to right speed. I double clutch my Z28 regularly, and the gears engage MUCH smoother than when single-clutching. No it isn't necessary, but it still WORKS.
