Tire choice

I think they're too soft for the street, for daily driving. If your car is just a weekend warrior, then sure . I have a set of Toyo RA1's (very similar to the R888's, they're just the "old" design) and while I've driven them on the street, I've been lucky not to get stopped by cops for it!! Once you get a few heat cycles into the tires, and start to wear them down, they run out of tread depth REALLY fast!!
... if you don't want dedicated racing tires, then just get the best street tire you can find (I don't really know what to recommend there ...)

BFG KDs were the best all around tire, but i think they stopped making them. falken 615s are also a very good comprimise. Nitto NT01s are the new thing, about the closest thing you can get to a race tire that can still be street driven. i wouldnt drive them in rain, snow, or anything other then summer, though.

Falken 615s are a nice choice, and very reasonable. I had them on for 2- 25 min sessions at Summit pt, Shenendoah, and they performed very well. 200 treadwear too.

I'm real happy w my Falken 615s. The reason I haven't run the Nitto NT01s is they bump you out of street tire class (100 treadware).
I also liked my Nitto 555s, not as sticky as the Falken's, but much better in rain if the car is a DD.
