Default TSP 239 results...

Well, to say the least, im not happy with the results..

352 hp 330 TQ

Someone smarter than me is gonna have to expain to me why i went from 314 hp/ 325 Tq, last year with just a lid and exhaust...to the 352/330 with the 239 cam ls6 intake ported Tb, 3500 stall.... I dont get it..

We could not lock the TC, so we couldnt even floor it until 75 mph...

I know somethings wrong, but i have no clue..maybe the tranny was lipping or something?

here is the graph..

how did the a/f look Chris? Was this the TSP mail order tune or a custom? I'd reserve judgement until you get to the track.

Is that your final tune? I'm not a graph expert of anything, but you're A/F graph looks *** backwards to me. Don't you want the A/F to be richer at low RPM's, and lean out slightly at high rpm's to pull off a good combo of tq/hp?

Needless to say, a slightly bad tune is not ALL your problems......I wish i could help man. How's the car running? Does it feel strong/stronger? I don't know what to say, can you take it to the drag strip and see your times to compare to past times?

I'm pretty sure those superflow chassis dynos are like a Mustang dyno and read lower then a dynojet, did you dyno at the same place before?

I never used one of those dynos so I dont know..

He's got Mac mid's and True-duals with 12" bullets. his mod list as far as i can tell is:

Mac mid lengths
2.5" true duals 12"bullets
LS6 intake
Lid
Ported TB
3500 stall
prostars skinnies/et streets
TSP 233/239 cam

Well if thats his mod list then i am assuming he had the "exhaust" like he said which i take to be the headers and tru duals then his numbers are low to begin with. And i am thinking that the mdlengths are still holdin back the full potential of the cam.

LMAO, i just find it funny everybody jumped on the 233/239 band wagon and everyboddy is puting out poor results.

now on to your setup. you really needd to richen up the low and mid range, you are really lean. were the pre cam dyno numbers with the TC locked or unlocked? whats your full list of bolt ons?

-edit. saw the full list. looks like your good minus a pulley. i say (re)tune and lock the TC and redyno and go from there

the macs are not a problem, they've been shown to support plenty of power, and with the TD's his exhaust is fine.

We have a guy here in lubbock runnin this cam in a 98 TA actually he post here his name is master cheif, but he makes like 509 hp and 520tq. He has the cam and pacesetter headers and cutouts with ORY and i think a dyno tune by TSP ( dont remember). I think he also runs like a 3000-3500 stall.

Here is his sig:

1998 White T/A
100k miles...
11.4 at 119mph @ 4100DA
yanked/gassed/slammed/233/239cammed/LT's/ORY

After swapping PM's with him about how it felt, and his thoughts on the car......I/we get the feeling it's a transmission problem. What do you guys think? Does the graph relate to this in any way? Especially considering they could not get the converter to lock up, so they couldn't even make the pull till 75mph
