All that has realy changed since my last dyno run what the cam and valve springs (since my 918's were not going to hang with the new cam). This is on the same dyno, so no Mustang dyno to Dynotjet to Superflow variances. Both runs were on 315 drag radials on 17x11 ZR1 rims, 3.73 gears, converter unlocked: Here you go:

Old setup: home ported heads (by me, but I'm kinda good at )

91 octane

EXACT same setup, new cam
438rwtq/433rwtq

I'm totally happy with the new setup, the driveability has changed a little but nothing annoying, you just know you're got a cam in it now as compared to the 224. The 224 was great for what it was, but this new cam is just huge all over.

Would be interesting to see how much your ET improves. Hp looks great but your torque has changed very little. If you don't have more torque under the entire curve your et could suffer. Do you have before and after ET's?

 

Your torque is huge. How do people make so much torque. I have 450 rwhp and only 393 rwqt.

Great improvement! How is the area under the curve, and what RPM does it peak at? Is the new cam a TR CAM? Sorry for all the questions, I'm thinking of cahnging my B1 to something more aggresive.

Because they are dynoing automatics with stalls which will flash and generate a false torque spike.

 

Very impressive results! If that's with semi-home ported heads, I think the numbers would be scary with your fully home ported heads.

Can you share a few more details about your new cam?

 

Awesome numbers!!!!! Please post a graph I am considering upgrading mines from the TR224 but am curious of the torque curve. A few hours in the garage would be worth the increase if I don't have to give up too much torque!!!

 

It's probably not going to change much cuz both dyno's were with the converter unlocked, so it's the converter making most of that torque. Most likely the torque won't change unless he really starts puttin out a ton of torque, then it'll go up (or at least I think this is how it is, someone correct me if i'm wrong). Like my car made 445 rwtq and it's a cam only. I don't know my hp #'s, cuz the dyno screwed up the rpms, we were shutting down at 6600, and the dyno showed 7600, which will throw off the hp #'s, since hp is related with torque and rpm (forget the formula).

 

Because he's dynoing with an unlocked converter, so it will make a ton of torque when it flashes!

 

I'll have some track times soon. The power under the curve is actually pretty damn cool. The peak torque numbers didn't change a whole lot, but they toqrue stayed up longer, if you know what I mean. Peak torque was at 4600rpm, for both cams, but at 5500 the new cam had almost 80lb/ft on the old TR cam. It just does not fall off at all.

The cam was a custom-ish one that www.cmotorsports.com ground for me. It's a 232/234 595/598 on a 113+2 Comp Cams XER lobe. I am still amazed. I heard about these guys from back in my LT1 days and they were the men for LT1 stuff, I didn't know they knew the LS1 stuff so well too.

Yes, I port heads on the side, my set was done in a hurry to get the car back togerther, but there's probably another 8-10cfm left in them.

 

WOW. verry nice #s. what is the lift on that cam? i'm switching from my 222/222 566/566 112 cam to a 228/232 585/575 112 cam. i hope i have the same luck you did,congrats.
