LS swap but keep original gauges 84MCSS
The car is the way I want it basically. built 9" w/ 3.70's, Art Carr 700R4 and 2 different 350's. a 750 holley procharged 350 and a vortec headed street 350 w/ a 650cfm carb for 22-24 mpg. I just want a 6.0L w/ a TVS for perfect street manors and TONS of power. Can I keep the old gauges working?

I just drilled and taped the rear passenger hole for 3/8 npt..
for the oil sender ...I adapted my oil sender to the rear of my intake, where the stock sender on my 6.0 liter was, using this kit.. I have the LS2 intake though so I was able to sneak it in there by grinding down a few ribs on the intake.. There is another spot above the oil filter that people have tapped but many have had interference with exhaust..

For the speedo, if you want to retain VSS capability and have the cable for the speedo you could use this but it would require you to get rid of the 700r4 for a 4L60E or 4L65E..

Same for the cable x box.. need a VSS pulse to send to that from the trans and thats not going to happen with 700R4..

Really depends on what direction your going with this transplant.. If your going FI and using the VSS to feed the ECM\PCM for shift points or not..

I guess I need not reply at 1AM lol while Im trying to get work done at the same time.. lol
However, a few things I pointed out do stand .. an adaptor for that size sensor will stick the sensor out a ways not putting the sender in the head.. I would be curious if your able to turn down a stock MC SS temp sensor to thread in a 12 MM as LS1 MCSS indicated..
Also, I was correct in saying that it depends if you intend to use the PCM for trans shift points..
Another consideration is kick down for the 700r4 but I have seen provisions for this to work as well..
I think that the 700r4 will need an adaptor for the crank pilot per this thread ..

Cheers..
Update, I tried to rethread a 1/2" sender, which is for 70's gm's and they aren't thick enough. I cut through it before I got it small enough.
