The absolute most you can take a STOCK 5.7L LS1 block is 3.910. The most we ever recommend going is 3.905 because it becomes a pain to find pistons for anything bigger.

Default 4" bore LS1

Although I have never dry sleeved an LS1 block, and don't recommend doing so, it is technically possible to dry sleeve an LS1 to 4" bore if done correctly.

Without more details as to the sleeve material used in this block and the outside diameter of the sleeves and how they were installed, I can't give an opinion on whether the block would make a sound piece or not at 4" bore, much less 4.030".

If the internals are good, one could always take out the internals and put them into an LS2 block. Most LS2 blocks will go to 4.030" bore with the factory liners.

For your info, the factory LS1 blocks have a gray iron liner that is only .075" thick. That is the reason why .010" over is the limit on the stock liners.
