Default 60K miles and a cam swap. What else should I change?

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a 60K mile 2001 LS1 engine/A4. I know for sure that I will be camming the motor. Looking to go with a low-end/mid range cam, something custom maybe. Looking for a lot of low end grunt. Probably swap out the pushrods at the same time, and probably the springs to be safe......which is normal with a cam swap at any mileage, right?

Anyways, what else should be changed since its at 60K miles? Lifters? Oil pump? Timing chain?

Thanks in advance.

I would recommend a timing chain & oil pump on any cam swap. If you are lower miles, you can probably get by without the oil pump though.

Well the engine/trans is now mine. I'm part of the LS crowd!! Should be here by Thursday. I don't think I'll be doing the cam swap for a while yet. Heck, just click on my signature and you'll see how far off my build completion is!! LOL

Anyways, when it comes time to swap the cam, I will go ahead and do the pushrods, springs, oil pump, and timing chain. I guess its one of those things that I figure I don't want to have to do later. Like they say....if you don't have time to do it right the first time, how would you have time to go back and fix it again?

Maybe I just got lucky, but I didnt' pull my 125K oil pump for my cam swap and I'm getting 50-60 psi at idle... regularly hits 75 if I gas it. Case by case I guess (2001 Z)

ported oil pumps are a gimick especially for an 01 or 02 ls1. If i had any year before that i would have done the oil pump with a cam swap.
