Default Patriot Stg 2 243 heads or TSP PRC Stg 2.5 heads?

I did some research but they seem to be pretty much identical to me. Can you guys help me choose which one would be the best choice.

- I posted another thread similar to this one, but I think the title was missleading I was not really getting many responses.

I would go with what ever you can get a better deal on. The HP difference is going to be minimal.

I have the patriots stage 2 with my Tv2 cam and made 434/400 thru my 6spd when it was in the car. I am now going with a th-400 and a Fast setup so my numbers will not be accurate to say the least.

You can make good numbers and have fun as long as you do some more research. I put my combo together over 3 years ago.

depending on what cam you will be using. tea heads seem to like less split on the cam, there exhaust flow is unbelieveable

OP: I'd encourage you to look at the drag racing results section as well as the dyno results forum and see which head has the better track record between the two! The PRC line-up is constantly being improved to ensure you are getting the biggest bang for your modding buck, and we (TSP) strive to provide unparalleled service before and after the sale on the PRC line-up.

Let us know if we can help with your combo! We'd love to earn your business!

I had good luck with my PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads on the stock motor. Good quality and service has been great. Good bang for the buck. I dynoed 413/400 rwhp with my setup prior to the STS. 2 cylinders down compression wise. Running properly with a decent cam you will see 450+crank hp quite easily.

My buddy just put in a Tsunami cam with the PRC 2.5 LS6 heads. He made 405 HP to the tires with 460LE and 3600 stall. I am going with the same heads, I already have the cam. Good customer service is a plus too.

We can build the Stage 2.5 LS6 heads to clear the MS3 camshaft, just make sure you tell the guys which camshaft when you order. I'd be happy to set it up to clear for you. Ideally I'd like to see you running the PRC 215 heads, they're right at $2000 with no springs, but you'll get all the benefit of the aftermarket castings for just a little bit more $$. We can set you up with approx. 60cc chambers & still keep good p/v!!!

I would recommend you to consider inspecting both brands & even flow testing both brands side by side. I would even offer that you can purchase both brands and have them inspected independently. If you dont find the PRC quality is far superior & the flow numbers are far superior then we'll take our heads back for a full refund no problem.

for the behind the scenes service I'd go TSP all the way. In the end if its only a few HP here or there but the service is heads and tails better thats a no brainer. BUT looking into the heads the TSP's will most likely out perform the Patriots anyway.
I've got a set of 5.3 TSP heads on my bench and even though used you can see the quality in them and my friends who I've shown them to (i'm that kinda guy, lol) are all impressed with them.

Hell 3 TSP employee's have posted in your thread with advice and the offer from Jason is unreal which shows their belief that they are selling the BEST head at this price point.

I've recently sat a new set of PRC 5.3's and Patriot 243's side by side on a bench. I'm not a head porter, but cosmetically the PRC's look like a much cleaner port and there's more clean up on the casting flaws done on the PRC's vs. the Patriots.

I feel TSP has more R&R into their heads for better flow.
