P1416 is nothing big...easiest way to "fix" it is remove the AIR system from the car, and turn the codes for it off.

P1637 though is the alternator...possibly some damage to it's wiring, or possibly something wrong with the alternator, or it could be the wrong alternator for the car.

Sounds like something aftermarket...I'd look into removing it and then seeing if the P1637 stays off when you clear it (but keep it enabled).

Check the exciter (red) wire/connection at the alternator. Also check the voltage at the battery with the car off and running.

BTW,.. Just a bit more info on my issue. (P1637 code) ... Battery has a charge. All the lights for the gauge cluster still light up, alarm works & headlamps raise and lower at normal speed. .... I can't hear the starter 'click' when I turn the key. .... Starter Fuse isn't blown... SHE JUST WON'T START!

The Duratester at AutoZone will not test the L Circuit wire if I understand how the L Circuit works correctly. I would advise you to buy the AutoZone alternator put it in, see if it works and if the code comes back simply pull the alternator clean it and return it. As far as it seems that shouldn't keep it from starting?

If your battery has a full charge, the alternator code will have nothing to do with it not starting.
