And yea, tb is all the way closed
Yes it could still cause the problem and most likely is. There is a plunger that moves in and out on the tip that controls idle speed by leaking more/less air past the TB. Most likely it's not 100% closed.

You can pull the plunger out 100% by hand and slip washers on the shaft where the spring is in the pic that way it's locked closed 100%. Finding the exact length of "A" in the pic below may take some time to figure out. But it will all make sense once you pull it off and look at it. "B" basically needs to be pushed up against the bleed hole 100% so no air can bypass the TB.

FWIW (which is probably nothing, since I doubt the Micro has the facility, but I'm not sure), I controlled a stepper motor IAC with MS2 and MS3, and it worked very well. Still, even though MS2 is the same processor as Micro, I had to run four jumpers under the board, and I'm not sure how or if that translates to the Micro.

Assuming it doesn't, I think I also ran an appropriate sized NPT tap into a stepper motor IAC hole one time and pipe plugged it. All of this was a while ago, and my memory is feeble. Lol

Whoops, sorry, I missed the Plug and Play part! Although there is probably no way to make a normal MicroSquirt control a stepper IAC either...

Your goals should be easily met, that car will fly! I use the same on3 88mm on a mostly stock 5.3 in my 4k lb family car and it ran 9.6@145 on a baby soft tune the first time out with it.

Is it running on E right now? Might have an effect somehow tune wise?

Has to be a leak in the intake tract somewhere. How did you plug the IAC? Any pics?

I noticed your timing was at 38* or so? Thats pretty excessive, even at low load/idle. Mine likes around 9* at idle, 28-32 in light load cruise.

Suggestion....spray wd40 or brake cleaner around intake while running to see if idle changes.

Got rid of the ebay fan that blew air like a little biatch. Replaced it with a fan from a cavalier. Fits perfect with some trimming. This ones blows air like a baws.

I don't... pretty typical flipped manifold, turbo cam and valve spring build.

9 is pretty low and 38 is pretty high for idle, most I've seen like 17-22.
