Who says the 88/83 flows 120lb a min? There are no compressor maps for china copies I’m aware of? The larger wheel and exhaust housing on the s475 alone is going to make a big difference. That coupled with the extended tips and newer wheel designs. Unless there’s a back-to-back shoot out though I agree… we are all just guessing.
Ya I havent seen anyone use the billet wheel On3 yet. I was going off the old non-billet numbers for comparison to what I have. The MVS looks better but they didn't increase the flow numbers, I guess they didn't want to impede sales on the $2500+ turbos in the same hp range?

Be interesting to see the weight difference between a gen IV and a gen III piston and rod assembly. If you were swapping same generations, I wouldn't worry. I'd bet the later model assembly is heavier. Meaning the crank would be light on weight. May have some vibration issues at certain rpm points, maybe not.

The picture might be messing with me with light and angles, but it looks like you bent 7. I don't think you tried hard enough. Next time I expect all 8 to be twisted mangled abominations.
In all seriousness though, good catch. Glad you don't have a new PCV system in your block.

Although my Gen III LQ4 doesn't make any abnormal noises, I am willing to bet I have some "S" rods. It's been in the car for going on 4 years and has been at 600+ rwhp the entire time.
I hope that I can catch mine in time too before it windows the block. Would like to keep the block around for a future forged bottom end.
Anxious to see some results of yours when you get it back together.

Yea i guess i was lucky and unlucky at the same time. Since it happend so fast i even kept timing really low to try to help it but that wasnt enough.

I believe 5.3 pistons are dished. Those, however, will fit but may raise your compression ratio a bit. 4.8 pistons are flat. Honestly, if there's nothing wrong with your stock pistons, you may be able to clean them up and reuse them. Pressing the piston pin off the rod though may cause them to crack. May not be worth it to save $100.
