I was told it would anodize ok...but you wont be getting the same appearance as a solid piece of alloy. The cast piece can turn out a different colour, maybe a powder like effect etc.
I guess it all depends on the quality and finish of the casting itself. If it turned out bad, maybe just powdercoat it after or paint it ?

What do you mean my risky? Like it deteriorates the part, or purely talking the final finish not looking good etc?

I do a lot of custom motorcycle stuff in my spare time for extra money. Here is a little horror story for you.
Cast aluminum is typically shitty quality. Anodizing will about 80% of the time turn out splotchy. It is hard to get the color uniform. Also, the anodizing process requires the part to be soaked in a solution to "etch" the surface. This can sometimes change the dimensions of the part. So the person has to watch what they are doing cause it will easily burn up in the etching process if kept in too longs.
I did a custom dirt bike build for a guy about a year and a half ago. He gave me a $10k budget to build a 2008 RM250 2 stroke. The dude is nuts about dirtbike ****. Anyway I bought a bike and it was a complete frame off job with lots of custom parts. I did a complete engine build and trans work so that required me to split the cases. I decided to have the cases anodize for a crazy custom look. Talked to several coaters and finally found one that he assured me it wouldn't be a problem. 2 weeks later I go pick them up and they where black/burned from the etching process. The main problem is that all the bearing that press fit into the cases no longer had a press fit as it removed too much material. So that was a grand loss. Of course everyone was out to lunch when I picked them up. The next week I waited till the owner was there and took them back. He denied any wrong doing and told me that the cases where black when I brought them to him. We almost came to blows I was so pissed.
Anyway, since then I have found one anodizer in Cali that I trust with all my cast anodizing needs. It really helps if you polish the part prior to being ano'd.
Here is a pic of when it started going back together. I can get some complete pics if anyone want's The bike turned out insane.
