I hate the factory camaro seats. The lack of lumbar support starts to hurt my back on long drives, and I dunno if this is due to wear but I feel like i'm sitting on a sheet of metal sometimes.
I'm curious if anyone has ever adapated power seat rails to an aftermarket seat, and if so, what challenges did you run into? I know the T/A seats work, but I haven't been able to find a pair of those in good condition for a reasonable price.
I did it. It's not hard, you just need a metal plate and drill the holes in the correct parts. you can follow 6les guide http://6litereaterdesigns.com/forum/...php?topic=34.0 Here's some pictures of what I did, sorry these are not the drivers side power seats but its the same concept.
One thing I learned is that the seats needed to have locktight on them to keep the bolts from vibrating out.
Aftermarket seats brands like corbeau offer brackets for fbodys to go with their seats.
6le also makes brackets for their seats but I'm not a fan of side bolsters on most racing seats.
I'm considering corbeau sport seat for a factory replacement type seat.
Trans am seats work great I had them for 8 years now. You need to grab the harness that runs under the arm rest to have them work. The air pump for side bolsters is ran from passenger seat.
The seats in the Trans AM was a major selling point to me as well. For the time, they were one of the best seats that GM offered, even better than the vette.
