Default T56 crossmember will it hold up?

Took a stock style cross member and cut it up to fit my t56/67 camaro project.
1/4" plate welded all the way around. I've seen other ones cut similar to mine but now I'm wondering if it will be ok. Car is mainly street with a 5.3 and twin Borg 60's.

in general, its a bad idea to cantilever a mount position like that . it can introduce a spring board action the installation. You may be OK here due to the width of the frame mount holes and the thick box section you fabricated. Just be on the lookout for the stick bobbing up and down excessively between shifts.

I guess I'll give a try. Not that it means much but off the car it feels extremely ridgid.
