For mine? Just carbon fiber/carbon honeycomb. If you look at the inside of mine on the previous page, it is basically a skin with supports bonded by the hinge area.
For street it will be similar to the way a stock hood is produced but only made from carbon fiber. An outer skin bonded to an inner structure. Again, looking at the inside of mine on the previous page, that bonded support area would cover the entire underside of the hood and not just the corners.

That came out great!
I have a spare OE hood sitting in my basement, and could pull the striker off to send to you. I didn't get the hinges when I got the hood from the u-pull-it yard, so I'm no help with those.

Actually took a bit longer than expected but its repacked and finally on its way out.
A little overkill but better safe than sorry.
Definitely need to lock down an easier way to ship...

The corners and long edges are the things that usually get torn up in shipping, because of the way that companies like UPS and Fedex bang them as they load and unload their trucks. The best boxes for packages like this are double strength boxes with wood slats around the inside perimeter of the box, fastened with massive staples.
It's not cheap to package something like this, but when you need something expensive to make it there with no damage, it pays to design the box to withstand being dropped on the corners a few times.

Yep I hear that.
We actually used Yellow Freight (YRC) LTL instead of FedEx. Sending to a commercial address as well. Hoping the added expense saves the aggravation in the long run.

Finally here. After a little delay in shipping I had a chance to get hands on the hood.
First off, this thing is thin and light. I mean like 10lbs or less light.
After all that packing this thing arrived without a touch. All of the edges are smooth and clean. Just need to get it painted now and mount it up...

They were made to be painted from day one and made out of carbon or fiberglass. Can't do the exposed weave...
