Default Door open sensor location???

I know this sounds crazy but where is the door switch/sensor that turns on the dome lights and cuts off the radio on a 1998 Trans Am?

I've looked at the door and along both door jams and can no find it anywhere.

In my buddies car that is a 1998 also, his is located in the jam next to the hood release.

In the latch itself on a lot of cars, those old push buttons/switches are long dead.
