I really like that sump/tank combo. I had this vision in my head of doing it to my car and getting rid of my stock tank and you nailed my vision to a T! We'll done man, Awesome work!

It was fairly straight forward, I searched for quite a while and no one had done it which was surprising. Then after fighting to get the stock tank out I vowed that I was never putting it back in lol. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out and now I have a ton more options for fuel pumps.

Subscribed. I love the work! It is nice to see people show some love for these Lt cars. I have a 93 Z28 that I swapped to Lq4/T56. What size radials are running on the rear?

Picked up a 31x12x4 eBay intercooler. Slowly getting that mounted up using the stock bumper support. Ended up cutting out the center and building a cross piece that the intercooler mounts in to. Also shaved down the nose so more air can flow through both the cooler and the radiator.

So I decided to smooth the cover..... Don't start this unless you have several.....several hours

Gloss black 👍🏻

Tried the rustoleum 2000 degree paint out. 2 hours after paint bake in oven at 250 for 30, out for 30. 30 mins at 450, out for 30. Then back in at 600 for thirty. Interested to see how it does when I finally fire it up. Regardless still going to run a blanket.

Smoothed and filled valve covers, coil threads removed.

That sure is a neat way to mount the turbo. These are the sorts of thing I need to save pictures of for when I get to be mounting a hairdryer.

Made a little more progress tonight. Brake booster, line lock, proportioning valve. Also painted the bumper support/intercooler bracket.

I have just about everything set to get the motor back in but I'm to the point of finally ready to buy a transmission. I'm definitely going with a th400 rmvb setup, but curious as to where/who I should buy from? Suggestions? Looking for the best bang for my buck of course but I want something that will last. Car will see mostly street driving and the plan is to dial it in around 700hp.

Along those same lines I would love suggestions on a torque converter (stock cam/stock lq4, 78mm turbo, 3.42 rear end)

Nice build man. On the transmission, for under 800hp I just typically find a good used T400 from a running car that by now has had a stock rebuild at some point in it's life, and fit a new turbo action full manual valve body, deep aluminum pan, TCI filter (gauze not paper), big tube/fin style cooler.. and they hold for quite a while!

If you ever rebuild a T400 yourself, I've had better luck using factory borg warner clutches and standard steels.

Never touched a th400 before let alone an automatic. I'm really leaning toward something I can just bolt on and go that's new. I agree with everything you suggest but I hate not knowing what I'm buying with a used trans.

Cool build-don't you have to replace the front frame or something from a later Camaro to put the LS engine in?
