5th gen isn't garbage, and the LS3 is a very capable motor. The biggest disadvantage it has is weight. GM fixed that with the 6th gens.

And you seem to have forgotten that one of my best buds had a 2013 1LE. Had CNC Gm Perf. parts heads, LS9 cam, long tubes, etc. Added the supercharger but said it ruined the balance of the car. I drove the car. Very fun and good handling car. But even as good as it is, he has even stated in stock/near stock form, his S550 is the faster car. With mods, its always anyones game. Yes... 5th gens can be fast if done right. But don't sit here and claim mine and Phil's cars are similarly modded... because it just simply isnt the case.

2- e85
3- modded air box
4- catchcan (you said it helped keep you from pulling timing)
5- weight reduction
6- exhaust (2/3 of your exhaust you have modded)
7- suspension mods
8- lighter wheels/tires with drs
9- lowering drag springs
Phil
1- oe z28 cai
2- rockers/valve springs
3- 2/3 of his exhaust with stock cat back
4- hio ported intake (which may or may not have helped according to others results) likely minimal at best. Some port jobs have actually been known to make less power. This was my first ls3 intake i have ported. Who knows what it does. Be cool to do a back to back to see.
*phils tune had no timing/fuel mods....no tm mods either. Only moved rev limit and cats turned off.
Phils car was as near full weight as it can get with those mods.
Are the mods different. ...yup. wanting a mod for mod thing is silly and very naive. Wanting mod for mod would mean you showing up on stock wheels....stock suspension. ....no e85.....full weight.....no catch can....stock tune with no power tuning. How do you think you woulda faired then?
I don't care about your best buddies car. Clearly not a good example. Did you and him run?
A s550 or s197 is not unbeatable like you seem to believe....and not as good as car a 5gen is either.

Power tuning on phils was stock....get over it.
It seems you guys don't really want mod for mod like you think you do.
So at 1-2-1 you're saying they tied 2 and each won one.

Uhhh, I wholeheartedly disagree on that first one. When I had my 2v a girl I was talking to had a 5gen SS. It was a turd, in every way possible. Looks, interior is sub-par like 99% of GM vehicles, can't see **** out of them, and it was dog **** slow. I'm not being a typical br0 when I say this, either. Those cars are not even close to the 2011-2014 Mustang's in any way besides handling. Anything else and the Mustang is gonna take the W.

I think the 5gen interior is much better. Both poppacry car and phils were base model cars. 5gen far better. Radio/screen bigger easier to read on 5gen. Dash much better looking and not as busy with all the buttons on the 5gen. I havevto give the nod to the 5gen on better materials to.
