More like... Crazy because thats what 99.9% of the Mustang owning, brand biased fanbois of this forum thinks of the 5th gen.
5th gen isn't garbage, and the LS3 is a very capable motor. The biggest disadvantage it has is weight. GM fixed that with the 6th gens.

I agree. Quite the contrary. Comparing gen to gen.

5g camaro ss > 5g mustang gt in overall package.
6g camaro ss > 6g mustang gt in overall package.

And you seem to have forgotten that one of my best buds had a 2013 1LE. Had CNC Gm Perf. parts heads, LS9 cam, long tubes, etc. Added the supercharger but said it ruined the balance of the car. They are very similar modded. Saying they ain't is a poppalie. If anything You have more mods here....several more mods.

You

1- tune
2- e85
3- modded air box
4- catchcan (you said it helped keep you from pulling timing)
5- weight reduction
6- exhaust (2/3 of your exhaust you have modded)
7- suspension mods
8- lighter wheels/tires with drs
9- lowering drag springs

Phil
1- oe z28 cai
2- rockers/valve springs
3- 2/3 of his exhaust with stock cat back
4- hio ported intake (which may or may not have helped according to others results) likely minimal at best. Some port jobs have actually been known to make less power. This was my first ls3 intake i have ported. Who knows what it does. Be cool to do a back to back to see.

*phils tune had no timing/fuel mods....no tm mods either. Only moved rev limit and cats turned off.

Phils car was as near full weight as it can get with those mods.

Are the mods different. ...yup. wanting a mod for mod thing is silly and very naive. Wanting mod for mod would mean you showing up on stock wheels....stock suspension. ....no e85.....full weight.....no catch can....stock tune with no power tuning. How do you think you woulda faired then?

I don't care about your best buddies car. Clearly not a good example. Did you and him run?

A s550 or s197 is not unbeatable like you seem to believe....and not as good as car a 5gen is either.

Poor Dug. He's still mad the 5G with more power mods went 1-2-1

Phil's car has WR too and also has a modified tune and NPP exhaust Phil himself listed but Dug left out

3.73 on m6 cars. 2.73 in a8 cars i think

Actually there is a lot of logic in that. You cant compare an actual tune (on e85) to boot and a raising of the limiter.... Its just not the same thing....

Might want to listen to Hio, might learn a thing or 9,456....

Phils car has next to zero wr. Engine cover is gone and the headers saved a little. We coulda scaled them that day and evened the weight. How do you think that woulda went?? Lol

Power tuning on phils was stock....get over it.

It seems you guys don't really want mod for mod like you think you do.

So at 1-2-1 you're saying they tied 2 and each won one.

Uhhh, I wholeheartedly disagree on that first one. When I had my 2v a girl I was talking to had a 5gen SS. It was a turd, in every way possible. Looks, interior is sub-par like 99% of GM vehicles, can't see **** out of them, and it was dog **** slow. I'm not being a typical br0 when I say this, either. Those cars are not even close to the 2011-2014 Mustang's in any way besides handling. Anything else and the Mustang is gonna take the W.

Huh.....a tune is a mod. If poppa really wanted mod for mod here he coulda only changed his rev limit and emergency cat deletes. You either want mod for mod or you don't.

So Phil has no WR but then you contradicted yourself and said he saved weight?

Headers and orx drop weight

Phil, the 5G owner, listed the NPP as a power mod. I'm just agreeing with him and GM.

I think the 5gen interior is much better. Both poppacry car and phils were base model cars. 5gen far better. Radio/screen bigger easier to read on 5gen. Dash much better looking and not as busy with all the buttons on the 5gen. I havevto give the nod to the 5gen on better materials to.

Remember both are base cars here.

You bought a 2v. That says enough. You aren't aloud to call anything a turd.
