Thanks! It runs harder than hell in my opinion for not being FBO. The LT1 got its dyno reading from the same one Whippled's blown 5.0 3V that was causing trouble on here made 616 on.
Not sure what Zyborg's on about. The 97's owner doesn't have any 5.0's. Just his 97 Z, a 01 SS, and a 97 3.8 beater DD. Oh and an R1.
Just joking meng. Nothing against your buddy. Im sure he is a real nice guy.
I bet he would attest to that as well. We always talk about how funny it is when I lie and hide mods in my threads on here. Then get owned by guys like Jake.
This. Those old lt1s are still the best sounding fbombs ever.
They really are. If mine wouldn't have ate it's third starter and blown the head gaskets at 140k I probably wouldn't have my current car. It was a basket case though.
And I forgot what cam it is. Could be the 306, 503, one of those wacky ones. He's literally just running it to see when something's gonna give up the ghost. The fact that it's still SBE and stock rear shouldn't be too much longer.

Yeah, SBE lt1s weren't all that strong. I don't remember having any issues with my 97 WS6 besides the usual window motors and dash crack.
I love the CC503 cam sound. Such a mild badass sounding cam usually.
I still check in the lt1/lt4 section every once in awhile. Still cool to see some of those guys wrenching on them. Most of the reason is because they have too much sunk cost to switch now but whatever.
I'm trying to figure out how someone who is 6'8 @ 148lbs is even healthy enough to stay alive? Lmao.
Don't know. I've seen him down an entire 14" pizza by himself in one sitting and still be hungry. Dude's just the extreme version of the oddly tall, skinny dude you all knew in HS.
Here's a picture of all our cars together. The red SS on the end is his too. The wife of my buddy who owns the 1LE took this. You can see the tall as hell blond dude in the left by the garage. The guy to his left? Me wearing logger boots which I stand about 6'2" in because i'm 5'11" barefoot.
Bout have to be...and those numbers I mentioned would be a M6. Most H/C/I LT1's are in the 370 range through a stalled auto. Now a High compression 383 with a custom solid roller should not have much issue hitting 440-450whp. We have to remember stock LT1 heads are around 180cc with 58cc chambers.
