I hate chrome, looks too fake flash to me.

Prefer polished aluminum or machined/brushed aluminum. A not too dark gunmetal would work well for a darker overall look for the car.

I feel exactly the opposite; chrome looks much nicer than polished - unless of course the chrome in question is cheap quality, vs. polishing that is very high end (but those are extremely expensive wheels then.) Cheaper polished finishes always tend to look cloudy to me - in other words they look like poor quality/poorly cared for/damaged chrome.

I do agree that machined/brushed with clear coat can look nice though.

Overall, I actually like silver painted the best for NBM. But chrome would be very nice too.

I can't do chrome on any part of my vehicle just my opinion. I think gunmetal or a darker gray like the original C5Z wheels would look killer on NBM.

I ran 18" C5 Z06 on my NBM Z28... loved the way it looked.
