It shouldn't, might take more coverage to get the red color though. I would try to exchange the primer for some gray instead.
I would say just try it but if the red doesn't cover the black primer well it can be a pain to correct because you would need to strip it and get back to bare.

Works fine, but the finish isn't very resistant to scratches. Not sure if primer would help much or not.
Pretty sure I mentioned before I just used straight Krylon after cleaning the intake, but a lot of people do prefer to use the primer and adhesion promoters so I just wasn't trying to tell you what you were doing was wrong.
It has been my experience that trying to put spray primer over spray paint 100% does not work...there is a strange reaction that looks like cracked lava as the primer dries. So I always make sure to do whatever primer I intend to to well and if I'm not happy with the texture fix it BEFORE doing any painting...it's a real mess trying to strip paint and primer to get back to ground zero to start over.

Painting has been completed. I applied three coats of the red over the intake and opted not to use primer. The coverage was great and the red really stands out and looks nice. I decided to let the intake fully dry overnight/throughout today, so I'm going to apply the clear-coat tonight. I'll get some pics up tonight.

I'm as tight as the next guy, but there are just some things I don't skimp on.
How tight you may ask...."so tight that if you pulled #2 monofilament through my butt it would squeak like a cheap violin"

I'm sure you've done your research but, I'm surprised you didn't go with the tried and true NW...

I've talked to several guys running them, and read reviews from quite a few others, and they all have nothing but good things to say about them. Plus, the guy who tunes my car said he's tuned a bunch of cars that run the cheap e-bay TB's, and he's never had an issue with tuning even the cheap e-bay ones, which are not near as good as the WARR TB. I'm going to give it a shot and see how it goes.

I refuse to pay $350+ for a hunk of aluminum with a ******* blade in it. There is NO REASON a cable driven LS style tb should cost double the price of a carburetor which has many moving parts and various pieces. IMO it's pure exploitation.
I have a Ballistic Speed 92mm on my car and it's insanely better than the Fast 90mm tb it replaced due to the Fast having an incorrectly sized IAT passage. IIRC I paid $150 for the Ballistic Speed. Sadly they are no longer in business. Heard good things about the Warr tb through, could be made by the same manufacturer.

Wow that looks pretty good in red. I always thought these style intakes were best left black, but I'm now rethinking that. Nice job.
On a side note, have you bolted a throttle body up to it yet?
I ask because I just bolted a Nw92 onto my fast 90 and some of the TB to Intake o -ring can be seen through a gap on the bottom side of were the flanges meet.
Anyone else experience this?
