need Procharged A-body build help
building a 408 boosted chevelle. planned on running the lsx transplant cog kit, f1a. as i research it more the fit dosent sound so great. so guys that run this set up, does your belt clear your factory water pump?, found a thread that it dosent, most guys that run a larger crank pulley have to run a electric pump, and does your power steering pump fit. i found another thread that the power steering pump dosent fit. my car came manual steering but i would like to upgrade. at this point may as well go gear drive, and run a remote water pump and figure out a belt drive for the alternator, all this has me considering a single turbo build. thanks

I don't know what year chevelle you have, but I ran the vette setup on a 69, and the transplant on a 72 with a cog and D1SC (bad idea, the cog on a D1SC rattles the hell out of it)
I had no problems with the fit, and used a CTSV PS pump-the PS pulley interfered with the pressure fitting on other pumps. I also ran an IC'er on both setups. Iron blocks take a diff PS bracket than alumn blocks. Here are a couple pics of the 72-i ran a 4L80E, 9" w/350 gears, 6.0, LS3 heads, intake-pulled down 24 MPG on a cruise, lol-wish I never sold it

I don't remember, prob 12-14 lbs-as I remember I ran a smaller crank pulley, 66T?-I had a larger one, but it would have over driven the D1SC,
and I was able to find some smaller pulleys-You could prob put a larger idler pulley on and lower the belt some.
I had found a place with diff size belts, and cheaper, so I could push the idler pulley down further.
How much power do you want to make-the Vette setup works great on the A bodies, you can add an 8 rib setup-its a little tight getting an air intake setup for a filter though, but I made up something

You could also use this bracket that ProCharger same out with last year. It is a dedicated drive 8 rib kit for the 07-13 trucks. All the accessories for the 07-13 trucks work with it. Bob

With the F series having a 5.40/1 gear ratio you could get away with a smaller crank pulley. Bob
Figuring out impeller speed
(Crank tooth ÷ Blower tooth) X (5.40 step up ratio in newer F Series) X ( Engine Rpm's)
