I'm not sure. I'd like to try a precision 76/75 turbo but they're kinda high $. A friend of mine went to a twin setup and has one laying around. I'd like to throw it on there and see if that's really the bottle neck. Converter is also blowing through some as it only drops 600 rpm in the shifts.

If you don't mind me asking what kind of ho did it put down? Also how much did the tranny swap cost? I'm thinking of looking into swapping out my T56 for an auto.

This was on 10 psi.

This was on 15 psi running low 12s afr. I richened it up and made 655ish.

4l80e cost me $500 and I ran it one season. Rebuilt it last December,
Trans Kit $180
Used ptc converter $400
Bmr cross member $220
Flywheel/spacer $40
Cooler, lines and fittings $100ish
Made the harness myself so that didn't cost me anything. But I did sell my t56 for $1700. So that helped a lot.

Love your setup and results!!!

Are you still running on a stock 98 PCM? Gravity fed turbo oil return to the timing cover?Been researching something similar for a while now. looking for a good deal on a huron or cxracing kit with a 78/75 turbo.

I hope my 100k sbe lq9 can hold up for a while with 550ish rwhp and a yank pas 3400 converter on a stockish 4l80e!

Thanks man! No we fried the 98 PCM awhile back on my first turbo build. Swapped to a 99+ and repinned my harness. Return goes to oil pan right in front of oil filter. It's dang near horizontal but I have never had any problems. You will love the budget setup of Huron speed. I'm also planning to swap to pro yank converter this winter.

Figured I'd update this thread. Did some changes over winter. The engine was still on stock bolts and gaskets and it had pushed coolant once on a 140+ roll race, so I pulled the engine and trans and swapped to ls9 gaskets and arp bolts. I was blowing through my PTC so I sold it to a friend and got me a pro yank 3600. I also swapped the on3 78/75 for a precision 76/75. So we'll see how name brand vs China does. I was out of fuel so I got some Bosch 142 lbers. Hoping I can reach my 9 second goal with this combo.

I also decided to stand up the rad as I was having problems keeping the engine under 220 in 95+ heat. I cut the under side of the upper support as far forward as I could. I wanted to try running a shrouded puller setup. It's really tight and I'm guessing why I couldn't find anybody that had done it. I had some eBay 10" fans that I cut a section from to fit by the compressor housing. The passenger fan has about a 3/4" from the turbine housing. I'm hoping with a turbo blanket and air flowing by it, I won't have problems with it melting. So well see what happens. I used a Napa FF233 flex hose for the lower rad hose and the stock upper hose. I'm hoping it to have it running by this weekend.

I got the rad, shroud and fans mounted and it pretty close to the turbo. Before the blanket, I had about 3/4 inch between fan cage and turbine housing. I'm hoping with air flow that there won't be any issues. Planning on starting it today so hopefully it won't all melt and I'll be able to keep this baby cooler this year

Made it out to the track last night for the first time in a year and it was great. Had about a 15 mph head wind but got into the 9s and a new pb! Still running lean so hopin to get some 450s in the steel tank and maybe get a couple more tenths out of it. And no already sold the turbo to a friend ha.

Awesome you got in the 9's! This was with how much boost? And what for fuel? I plan to run for the first time this month with a similar setup. Mines a t-7875 and I plan to run 17lbs of boost on straight vp110 hoping for very similar times!

Nice running car for sure!!! Do you think the upgrade to the Precision was worth it over the the on3? Substantial price difference for sure. I have a s475 on my Lq9 also and its pretty responsive but it pretty big and was tough to package, so on my next build I'd like something a little smaller so I had my eye on the on3/tc/pt 78/75's.

When would you say the PT goes positive as far as boost? My s475 starts making boost at about 3400.

Thanks guys! This was on on 16 psi and 16-17* on e85. That t78/75 is a nice unit and should definitely get your goal. The on3 ran hard! I got the precision given to me but needed a rebuild and that cost $650. So it was lil cheaper but still more than the on3, I woulda kept the on3 if I had not came across this deal. On the 2 step at 3000 rpm, I can build 5 psi. But that didn't hook that last time around. So I launched on 2-3 psi. Ya I feel ya on the real estate issue with an f body ha.

I think I should be close on trap speed, but not sure I can get the 1.53 60ft you had. I was only cutting 1.8 60's last time but have the brakes holding better now. Hopefully can get the 60ft to a 1.6x! Wonder if I can run timing similar to yours on 110?

Ya gettin it to 60 is harder than makin the power for sure. My other setup did 1.50s so still need to do a little work on that. Im hopin I can get into the 1.4s and maybe 2 more psi. Maybe crack a 9.50 on sbe and stock trans. I'm not really a tuner, but I would say so. But don't take my word for it.
