The apps don't read everything the factory gauge cluster reads.

For instance, none of my app type setups will read fuel level. Stupid thing to leave out...
The other issue in my experience is response time from actual to displayed. I don't see it being an issue with a normal car in normal driving.

i see .. you right that would be stupid..
i guess the easiest way regarding the fuel gauge would be to keep the OEM Cluster regardless and since i use the stock tank and sending unit the fuel gauge should work as well..
for everything else i use the tablet..

yea its gonna be a daily driver so a "normal" car.. and it dont have to be ON POINT accurate.. its more so i can look at speed limits and rpm

I'm running an Auto Meter fuel gauge with the Ford OEM fuel level sender, you have to get the right ohm range gauge for it to work right. This is 1 option. I use nothing in the stock cluster except back lighting and battery / charge light, I don't use this car on the street.

You can use camaro gauges and a camaro pcm with that car they fit pretty devent and u can use all the gauges instead of spending money if it's a budget. Google it and u will see what I mean. Camaro oil pan is best for fitment and the truck manifolds will fit and u can have the exhaust added to them and save money there too any intake under the size of a hi ram will clear stock hood. Aje k members are the **** and so is the coilovers u can buy for 800 all in one kit. Control arms motor mounts etc all together and it's an easy swap but sto'clock k member wotks with modifications. Factory fan can be hooked into camaro pcm and u can use it and the radiator easily
truck accessories clear stock fan pretty well if u need help p.m. me I am on the down hill side of mine

thanks i ll reach out to you by PM as well..
regarding the cluster if the Camaro one is a decent fit it is a option.
so a F body oil pan?
i dont mind possible hood clearnace issues since i want a cowl hood anyways .. i think they look good on a new edge.

Thats a good deal if you ask me, did it come with the pcm? I'm going to have over $100.00 bucks for the wiring harness and pcm. Where did you find the motor from?

Thanks.

I cleaned the motor with a brush and 2 cans of GUNK.

then i took the heads of to see what we workibg with..
i knew it was a running motor but looking into it is always good
i cleaned the heads with gasoline and a brush and it sat 10 mins. Dont brush the valve steams the rubber will get damaged.

AND HERE
THE MOMENT WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOUR WIFE WILL KILL YOU

it all came out great....
i lubricated the springs right after to avoi rust

I Also cleaned the pistons with vinigar... Boil it and poor it on top...let it sit 5 mins and scrub the dirt off

That 4.8 is only 290 c.i. But I'll bet it whip up on a 4.6 mod motor version of your car. The mod motor is painfully underpowered without any boost and they're bigger than a Chrysler hemi of old. LS, LQ were made for your car , they fit better in there than they do in an fbody, you'll have lots of room to work on it and it'll go in from the top with the hood still on.

yeah you right.. As soon as the car has either ls engine mounts or a aje kmember i can drop it in and see what space im working with.
even though i wanna keep it simple a turbo setup is always a option..

dont get down on the size of the engine.. there are plenty of articles showing very little difference in the 5.3 vs the 4.8 really the only difference is that the 4.8 likes to be spun up to 7-7500 for its power You could always just get it bored to an LS1 spec... you will want forced induction i would even start with a cheap on3 turbo or something of the likes until the budget increases you would be amazed at the quality and improvements that CX racing has put in their super cheap ebay turbos i would grab a cheap t-76 and i plan too haha. I have an 01 tahoe sitting next to my 01 GT and the tahoe has the 4.8/4l60e (im in chico if anyone needs a tranny). I found that a company makes an adapter plate to mount the mustang 5 speed (tr-3650) to the LS family and i have one with under 5k miles thanks to a replacement right beore my service warranty was up haha
