Maybe crack a 9.50 on sbe and stock trans. I'm not really a tuner, but I would say so. But don't take my word for it.
The thing was it was dead hooking at the track. The tires were not spinning I was just pushing through the brakes. I could only get about 2400rpm off the line before it pushed through. So I haven't even tuned the suspension at all. I just have the fronts set loose and the rears stiff. Is that correct starting point? They are strange single 9 way adjustable shocks btw

Got me a motive brake bleeder and ran all new fluid through it and the brakes hold much better. I got about 28-2900 on the line on the street before the tires start to spin so hoping I can stall it to about 3k on the 2-step and build some boost and hopefully cut the 60ft way down.

I sure you guys are aware but the key to a good footbrake 60' with a turbo car is in the converter and tune. I was able to work mine down to a 1.38 and lived in the low 1.4 range on marginal tracks. My 2 step was set at 3400 and I pulled timing down to -10*. I haven't messed with it much but I hope to get it down even further this year. I do have a new converter on the way which I was told would still get to 3400 on the footbrake. We will see.

I have a buddy with a LS Fox and he too leaves off the footbrake on an 80e with a tight FTI converter. He went 1.32 60' leaving at 2400 on the 2 step. He's messed with his tune a lot to get it there though. He made the switch to a PTC for this year.

Andy, do you run slicks or DRs on the car?

I had forgot to mention I also did an abs delete and it seemed to have helped a lot. I used to push through the brakes as well with a looser converter, Now with a tighter one I have no prob holding the car. I got the proportional valve all the way open to the rear but also have wilwood brakes on the front so I haven't ever locked the rear tires up. And I agree tune up is critical when trying to footbrake. But I run more timing, 24-26 degrees while on the 2 step. I know other run less and have seen it work but to me seems like it shocks the tires when you let off the brake, and our tracks aren't sticky enough for that. I've gone through your thread rocket, and love the 1.38 footbrake 60!! Congrats. Hoping I can dial mine in as well. Got a set of slicks coming so hoping that will allow me to launch under more power.

As far as suspension, I really don't know what to tell you ha. Have stock springs and 50/50s in the rear and bilstien 90/10 coil overs with 300 lb springs in the front.

Radial, 275 Pro. It works very well for me.

My suspension isn't anything great. Strange SA's upfront and Comp's in the rear, lol. I do have an anti-roll bar and all the other essential rear end pieces though.

I'm gonna try and hook a Nitto 555r 275/60 this summer on my Nova. The Nittos dont have a great reputation, but most I see having trouble are on a 17" or 18" rim not leaving much sidewall. I've got DA shocks, CalTracs, good springs etc. We'll see. If I can cut a 1.50 or better 60' it'll run!

Gonna try a new tire this weekend 28x10.5W stiff side wall. Hoping launch under lil more power and break into 1.4s!

Well the above tire does not fit on an f body. Had about 1/4" from rear fender and it expanded and started rubbing with speed. Went back to the 325/50/15 mt dr and did get a new best. Guess it's time to turn the boost up and drop that 60. It makes 4-5 psi at 3000 but just don't seem to get any faster in the 60

So my iat were getting to 175 on a 1/4 mile pass on an 80* day and I wanted to see if my 4" ic was restrictive. I installed a second boost gauge on the turbo and made a 15-16 psi pull and turbo pressure only went to 18 psi. So it's not restrictive but just not very efficient at dropping iat. At what point is there power left on the table iat wise? Has anyone built a duct so the turbo doesn't grab hot air from the rad?

Add a coupler and a piece of aluminum pipe and put it by were the headlight is. From the pics on the last page it looks like there is a open spot on the Driver side for fresh air.

Figured I'd update my build, got back to the track to try some testing on pulling timing to add boost and it turned out great! This was launching on 7-8 psi and 16-17 psi through the run. Ended up running lil lean 12.3-12.5 through run but I said screw it ha. It must of gained power cause my best mph before was 138 and now it ran 141 with out changing anything in the tuneup. Lean is mean that's for sure. Added some fuel and it ran 12.0 and only ran 139. Thinking of trying a different wideband to make sure it's accurate. This was on pump ethanol testing 88%.

Ah she's a ways from 8.99. Need to get a roll bar in and some safety equipment. Prolly swap to a 4303 pump and then push it lil harder. But that won't happen till the fall

Love the build man! You give me hope! I have a lq4 with ported 243's, custom grind fti turbo cam, ptc converter, t brake th400, 3.31 gears and 28x10.50 pro bracket radials. Billet 78/75 vs racing turbo. Car weighs around 3400 with me in it. I would be ecstatic to run what you posted above. I'll find out in the next couple weeks. Congrats and keep up the good work!

I'm super invested in your build as it basically mirrors what I plan to do. A lot of the concerns I have you have addressed keep up the good work. Do you plan on running the 4303 on the stock fuel tank?

Ya, plan on doing a diesel style sump at the bottom of the tank. Hopefully it'll work with the steel tank.

How are you liking the Pro Yank? Are you locking it up in 3rd?

Absolutly love the pro yank. Foot brakes 3200 and hits hard when you let off. Shift it at 6200 and shift drops 800 rpm. No it's a single disc so I'm not locking it.
