My bad, medium bore is what I meant. Knowing now that you're doing the 388, would you have opted for the larger bore LS3's?

Not necessary, unless i went to a a 427. The medium bores have a really nice CSA for what I'm doing IMO.

Equates to 245*/259* in HR which on a 434" with a 270 CC or less
intake port & 200 shot N2O is relatively mild or moderate IMO.
And the lifts for a LLSR are relatively mild as well.

OP sorry to muck up your thread.

Agreed. I think these heads are going to work well for your application. Once you start getting into the 427+ cubic inch range, the MAST LS7 heads make more sense in my opinion.

I'd worry less about displacement and more about the bore size.

Nailed it. Anything 4.125 and more needs a ls7 or bad *** cathedral. Anything less is fine for ls3 junk. Cathedral still preferred tho.

I would think a good set of ported 243's would be better than trick flow cathedrals

You have ls3 heads that's interesting how deep into the 13's are you and do have enough torque to even idle?
