Filter Magnets come on in and Look
For those that did not know ....these things are great ! I use them on all my cars......if your cheap you can also make your own I hear from hard drive magnets

Are they great because they make you feel better?
We've had discussions on these things before and there are some scenarios and theories about how the oil filter magnets can be harmful.
The transmission magnet is probably fine but there should already be several inside the case; installed at the factory. (So, I'm not sure adding another one would really add any benefit.)

it does make me all warm and fuzzy inside
I feel its just good insurance combined with the stock drain plug magnet ....but I dont have a stock drain plug magnet ....of course I upgraded to a stronger magnet on my drain plug
I also have a filter cutting tool to see how good my magnets are working...and yes I can see them working !! I never find a forest of particles but enough to make it worth while
I also change all my filters out around 3k.....so ya cant say the magnets build up on particles and then break off to circulate thru the block
win win in my book

I've tested them on different engines and absolutely they collect metal, kinda scary how much they collect in 5k. But at the same time these magnets are BEFORE the filter media so almost ALL of it would have been collected by the filter media anyway. So do they really do any good, I personally think its a waste of time.

if you like examining filters .....the filter magnet makes finding those ferrous filings a whole lot easier than digging thru the pleats of the filter...and it saves the filter media to the job of collecting other materials .....another win win
