99TA - 416 build - Stolen, damaged and getting repaired
Nothing was holding the #5 exhaust valve up and in place other than being stuck in the guide and luck. I'm surprised the valve didn't drop.

Just how tough is a stock rocker with BTR trunnion upgrade?
The thieves that stolen my 99TA mechanically over rev'd the engine so badly #5 exhaust smacked the piston so hard it blew the keepers off the retainer and the rocker stand broke - but the stock rockers is intact. The rocker appears to still be good. It will of course be replaced.

Normally ive only seen them crack in the pushrod cup area or seen the pushrod blow through the cup. Ive also seen a few fail at the bottom of the rocker where it goes around the trunion. Ive never seen a aftermarket trunion fail before the rocker from a situation like that though. Very odd that the rail broke though. That really points me to maybe the bolt was working itself loose it seems.
Yes, it damaged the rocker stand.

A) Put the old LS1 back in with the surplus LS6 90mm TPIS intake. Estimated cost $2000 with tune.
B) Fix the top end of the ERL 416. Heads have to go back to Reher-Morrison. Estimated at $2500 to $3000 may need new cam, new lifters & rockers etc depending on what's found.
C) Pull the ERL 416 and check everything. Fix top end as above. Estimated at $4500 to $5000
D) Scrap the 99 TA and part the car out. The Hawk's 8.8 rear end can go to my girlfriend's son's and the T56 Magnum and carbon fiber drive shaft to the white RS.
E) Pull 416 to make sure it's right and go LLSR since I will likely be buying another cam and lifters. What does a LLSR cam, good lifters & adjustable rockers typically cost?
Previously I was anti LLSR cam for my 99 TA since the car was a daily driver. Going forward the car will be insured as a classic / specially car limited to 3,000 miles a year. A 4th garage space has been secured for the 99 TA. Since the car won't be able to see 15,000 + miles a year anymore - I no longer have an objection to putting an LLSR cam in the car - even if the life expectancy is only 30,000 miles or so.
I'm pretty sad the TA can't be a daily driver anymore regardless of how this goes forward.

An llsr with rockers runs about 1k+. $359 for the tie bar morels. $389 for cam. And adjustable rockers run in the $500s+
You can use stock rockers but then pushrod length is that much more crucial and has to be measured and special ordered. Then you want make sure you get the right wipe pattern and shim rockers if not correct.
Why are you questioning the lifters? I understand you want piece of mind, but there is also a line between being cautious and overthinking.
What on the heads needs to be fixed besides the bent valves?
Motor isn't cracked up yet so other than bent valves and other Val e train stuff hopefully not anything else wrong with heads. With cylinder #5 the exhaust valve stuck at the top the cam is smacking the loose lifter. It's audible now that the exhaust leaks are tightened up up in the y pipe etc. The lifter roller and cam lobe maybe buggered from smacking. Since LS7 lifters are like $100 a set I really can't see reusing these since the heads are coming off.
