Talked to Rick, the guy that makes these controllers got me straightened out. If I run it in a boost by time configuration, everytime it eclipses 3# it will start the timer sequence, so I i ever do anything from a roll I’ll have to manually change the sequences.
Adjustable lca and panhard showed up, along with my plugs and some parts to the tq arm, I’m pretty pissed at FedEx right now. I am sooooo sick of this smart post crap. They picked up my intercooler pipe kit on the 21st, hasn’t moved since. Called em today, they said they won’t be giving it to usps until the 6th, then to allow 2-3 days for them to deliver it. What the FUQ
Well got some progress done today! Bought all the materials to make my tq arm, mount, and trans crossmember. All my suspension is here, time to get started! I installed my hd2 kit into my 04’ 80e I took in on trade, trans and fluid looked greatttt. So that’s a big step, now trans is ready to go in. In the morning I’m headed to the local yard to get a rear end so I can get that completed. High of 3* tomorrow, so wish me luck.
Thanks man! Weather has been rough lol. But it’s about to get really bad. So hopefully I’ll have a few days jammed in the shop getting crap done. Hoping to have the rear ended done today. Got my rears and a spare.
Come home to few packages, my 2.5” coldside piping and my 3” stainless flex joints for my down pipes. I’ve got gods plenty here to keep my busy for awhile.
I really need to make a decision on the intercooler placement. Right up in the nose or as far back as I can get it. Not sure. Obviously would like to get the weight back towards the rear, but I do like the room I’d gain by leaving like the pictures
Got the pumpkin centered, housing shaved clean, lt1 backer plates mounted, and my new lower control arm mounts built. Should have her all finished up tomorrow. 31 spline posi rear, lcarbs, disk brakes, have about $250 total into it. Can’t beat that. In the iroc pictures I did the same thing, but I also built dual caliper mounts and ran a dual caliper setup on the rear.
also I bet we look silly to all the guys in texas and florida that dont really have a winter.
i couldn't live without it. its my season to hunker down and rebuild and recharge.
Agreed, I see all these people in Florida and California etc talking about how we can keep the cold, or should move etc. I’m good, I like it. I’ll
Take the cold over a million people crammed into a little area, hurricanes, etc etc etc. I can’t hardly handle eating at Buffalo Wild Wings, let alone walking on the sidewalk with 2000 people each direction of me.
Pretty well knocked the rear end out, tq arm mount I suppose I should add another plate on the other side of the mount, so the heim is sucured on either side. I used 3/8 steel, I doubt I would have any issues like it is now, but better safe than sorry I suppose. Other than that she’s ready.
that looks plenty stout to me, that bolt is short so it doesnt have much leverage to pull in shear.
i say run it, and pull the bolt after some hits and see if its galled up or the hole is elongated. i bet it'll be fine.
speaking of, how do you adapt the companion flange to a suitable 1350ish u joint?
I usually just nab the driveshaft portion of that flags, it’s 1330 and just get a conversion joint. But the late 80’s early 90s f150 have a normal style yoke that the fbidy rear u joint fits in perfectly, just throw away the clips. I have one and will be using it, I’m pulling the seal anyways to replace it.
I think I may just run this the way it is, they are both grade 8 5/8 bolts, should be stout.
