My buddy phil went 11.5@120.x in a full weight 5gen 1le with bolt ons. His rw was 39xx. It makes between 466 and 476 whp on 3 different dynos. I would think a solid bolt on ls3 in a 4gen would easily go 10s. My ls6 has and a ls3 is more powerful than it

You might be on to something. After all the hot cam in a LS3 makes 48X hp and the ASA cam installed suppose to make 525hp but not sure how eithier one sounds at idle....

I've been told the ASA cam is very jumpy with a lot of surge.

Also, under the curve power is not particularly impressive. Basically, those who buy the 525HP crate engine are buying (on the whole) a pretty funky, underperforming engine......and the better option would be to get the base LS3 crate engine and install a more optimal aftermarket cam.

This info came to me from two different people, who do not know each other, who bought in to the 525HP craze and have since done cam swaps.

This is why i read alot... the factory cam almost 500 hp with headers and a tune which bad@$$!!
The 224 cam installed in the LS3 made 550 horses... im willing to bet it drives nicely and smoother than a 224 cammed ls1.

Figure I'll post this and since the thread seen a to be appropriate for what I'm about to post....
Above the car is running a 416ci with bone stock LS3 heads and a GM LS3 intake. Plus it's a 6 speed car. The cam is a secret tho. However I'm certainly impressed with the e.t/mph the car laid down.

Cecil is a 'turbo-charged' track.

Not taking away from this guys' accomplishment....but the east coast Impala SS guys always seem to run their personal best at that track.

Must really have some good air, there.

Which is why I asked years ago,..why don't the timeslips show the "corrected" time..that way no matter where you race at, it's corrected and your comparing apples to apples to the guy across the country. Just like dyno graphs, everyone goes by sae corrected

Of course he is. Then people can say the same thing about time slips as they do dyno graphs. Only I'm not sure what people would say after that since now they say take to the track and see what it does.

Easy! They'll just start saying take it to the dyno and see what it puts down and quit worrying about track performance. Track times are just for bragging rights anyway...

On second thought, there is always Br0 and Ricer math.

An 08 ly6 with twin 70s is bad *** with 11#s of boost. Prob over 800hp and idles/runs like a 2017 production truck. Hardly any lag at all and pulls like crazy.
