Missed the old vs new shot.

Yeah, I had to remove the shocks to drill, tap, and mount those screws. The bolts are to long and it was to late to go buy shorter. They won't hit while driving, but you are right they will likely hit if the torque arm is removed without a support.

Yes, that's a sintered bronze breather for the axle.

That is the adjustable Strano sway bar. The links that come with are huge because they have rubber bushings and if the shocks turned in they could hit the shredder valve when the suspension extends. I ordered 7/16" heim joints and 7/16" threaded rod from McMaster to make these replacements.

You wouldn't happen to have P/N's of said parts from McMaster do you??? That is exactly what I'd like to do.

Ahh OK, I know the Strano mounting/endlinks are a copy of the Hellwig mounting setup so I know what you mean with the giant endlinks with bushings. I think Hellwig actually makes the Strano bars anyways.

Could be, I have not clue who actually manufactures it, but the links are overboard.

These are the ones I ordered. I figured the since each support over the weight of the car it should be more than enough to handle the loads. I have not yet thrown my car to test that theory.

So, I pulled the old balancer to get a stock size one driving my water pump. Now, I have my old balancer and belts with less than a 1000 miles on them. I have no clue what that is balancer would be worth. It's aluminum hub and steel shell and is about 5.5" diameter. Though I'd get an idea before I try to sell it as I want to be fair.

I've finally got the miles on everything and swapped in some 7 plugs to started tuning higher up. I did one pull to see where it would stop pulling, but I stopped before it did and realize I need a shift light as the factory tack read about 6800 and that's not where it really was.

Tonight I changed to synthetic oil. Mapped the oil temp sensor again in oil to get above 210 degrees and made an adapter to remote mount a stock oil pressure sensor.

I'm now waiting on my friend to clear out some other work and a new exhaust will finally be built in a few weeks.

The other part I need to look into are wheels. The crappy 275/40R17 on it now spun at 74mph when I rolled into it in 3rd for my highest pull. I want to do 295 wide tires on all 4 corners and I don't mind a little larger wheel diameter so probably 18's. What are the wheels that work other than the Corvette and Corvette replicas and come in 10.5" or will 10" wide work? I'd like to get something with a dish to it as that looks much better to me, but since there are so few I guess I just have to settle with the closest. I have a tuning class this weekend, but guess I'll hit the local large wheel place next weekend and see what they find that fits.

The smell of Rotella from a crock pot will not make you hungry.

18x10.5 +58 c5 z06 wheels will work.

Just need 2.5" ARP studs for your hubs and spacers to adjust offset to ~ a +42 offset for a 295/35/18

Got mine here. Brand new OEM production wheels

I already have long ARP studs on all corners, so that helps. Thanks for the detail specs for the front. I knew from the wheel thread roughly where I need to be. Now, I just need to shop around and see which of 4 of 5 wheels available and pick haha. Oh, and how is your scrub radius with this setup?

Lots of 5x120 options work too. Offsets are usually in the needed offsets already. Plenty of wheel manufacturers catering to BMW customers out there. Good affordable wheels.

ESR (most sets below $1000)
Apex (most just above $1000)

My setup creates a positive scrub radius do to the lower offset. Tracks well down the road. Good turn in. Just aligned to factory spec, not aggressive.

That isn't to much and that is good since I think I need to get 2 sets over time. I need to have one with sticky race tires, but expensive and then a set with some street tires that might last longer while costing less for daily type driving. Then I'll need a 3rd set for straight line racing, but not wide 18" ones and that will probably come between the wide sets. I just don't want to be stuck buying new tires for these rims and these tires spin so easy it doesn't matter how hard they are life will not be long.

OE Wheels can get you some 18x10.5 wheels for around $600.

Yes they are knockoffs.
Yes they are heavier.
No I would not use them on a road course. But I'd be fine with it on autocross.

Otherwise like dojob said, OEM speedline C5Z wheels will be your lightest and most cost effective wheels you can buy in 18x10.5 buying used. You can go through House of Wheels and pay around $1200 for a set.

I emailed them yesterday and got a reply, but have to call them back still. I have a tuning class this weekend, so it will have to be next week. They did say that they had the speedline wheels.

Finally pulled the trim from the rear and found my leak is the window not sealing anymore. Safelite was the first to pull up in a search and they said you must replace the glass, the quote is $844. I'm like no thanks and guy is trying to get me to save the quote just in case. Will you stay the line for a couple minutes while I save this? I'm like no man, the hatch can be replaced completely for like $200 and hung up on him. Found another place that said they will try to seal it with the glass in first and then pull it if needed and the price would be more like $150 to just seal it. Does this sound right? I've don't a few truck rear windows and some side windows, but never a front or glued in rear. Any advise on what to watch for or what to ask is welcome.

Messed up and drove out of the garage with my charger connected when I went to check the leak and ran it over when I went forward killing it. Now that I no longer have a nice charger my alternator stopped working today, haha. I now have a newer better charger than before.

I'm looking at wheels and will most likely get a set or maybe two of the Corvette Speeline wheels in 18x10.5. I can't afford to drive it half daily on $360 a piece sticky tires, so what is a good option for affordable tires on the street. I have these very hard Nexxen tires that were on it when I bough it in stock SS sizes. They are cheap and last a good while, but on dry days it's like driving on wet roads so that is no good. This is why I might not get two sets of 10.5 wide rims as I could save on sticky tries by not going as wide and not getting the stickiest possible. I also need to get a set of 15's for the rear. The previous owner shaved the fins off the rear calipers, but does this make all 15's fit or do I still have to be careful what I get? I am tuning a guys 1800HP turbo Mustang for the experience without buying the equipment and he is going to feed me his old M/T 275/60-15 tires also.

I will caution you, Speediness from OE wheels will be heavy since they are aftermarket. I suggest tracking down OEM speediness on forums etc.

For DD wheels, look into a 18x9.5 so both wheels and decent tires will be cheaper. If you keep 18x10 look into Nitto INVO's or Sumitomo tires. They come in a 305 or 315.

I just bought a Hellwig adjustable from Sam, but I guess they came with the Hellwig endlinks not what appears to be the heim endlinks. Do you now have full heim endlinks? If yes, what do I specifically need to convert?

I think he is going to get the house of wheels .com oem 18x10.5 speedlines.

And for tires spending the money on good tires like Michelin a/s 3 + tires is well worth it. Treadwear warranty too. Or get another good tires with Treadwear warranty. Silly to buy street tires that don't have Treadwear warranty

Still checking around some, but looks like OEM Speedline wheels for the 295 super sport tires. Not sure how this tread wear warranty holds up to tires that are bald in a couple of hours, but if they will give me new tires the same day I might not go for the $84 tires 275 wide. If I do then I'll probably try to find another set of rear to match the ones I have now for all 4 corners.

The old links and new are pictured below, but the Mcmaster order is for 4 heim joints (part posted before), 7/16" fine threaded rod, 4 x 7/16" jam nuts, then 4 x 7/16" fine bolts about 1.5" long, 4 x lock nuts, 12 x flat washers.
