Update: Anthony Manna's shop installed engine, trans, Ron Rhodes core support, and then mounted intercooler, radiator, turbo, and he welded up the hot sides.
Next, car is coming back to me to make room at the shop for his 98 race car which he needs to finish updating for the 2018 season.
While car is back with me, will start wiring, acquire new brakes, the computer, some remaining fuel system parts I need and other misc parts.

New brakes? I should hope so! A drum front survivor lol thats nuts... reminds me of street racing back in the early days in my buddies chevy 2 with front drums, truly white knuckled rides haha.
Not sure what kind of brakes your after but its uber easy to convert those to 70's style disk fronts. Can step to big caprice rotors too if you want. Kinda heavy, but super cheap and with good pads work quite well. Or do a bracket and caliper swap ebmiller probably has a bolt on kit. Wilwoods are nice though, light too

Thanks guys, Bob it's been ages since we chatted in person how ya doing!
I'm doing Strange brakes front/ rear with their manual master. With the right pad should stop decent on the street.
I'm trying to keep the car light as I buy stuff. I also plan to run as short a down pipe as possible.

Yeah and local and a few buddies work there.
I'm working the friend's network, found a used pinon hood, pair of brakes, some other stuff I'm gong to grab.

Wow... super progress!!
John, id appreciate seeing the mount plate you have built for the turbo. I have a Maven Mount im trying to incorporate into my tubular support but man is it tight!! I am about ready to cut my grille for the turbo nose to come out of it but its a lot of work.
Your set up looks simple enough, but plenty clean! I might reconsider....

This build is getting off so cleanly...
... but hey!!! i see nothing hanging the Turbo!? Lol!! Is it still only hung by the exhaust tubing? (So far i suppose) or is there something im missing out? Cause looking at it from the pic thats looks inside the fender (from the outside) i really see nothing under the turbo either.

I have my "Maven" turbo mount and having looked at how some guys do it im not confortable using it how i would need to. I have seen guys hang their turbo on the end of a 1"dia stick of tubing that was only 15" long thats was simply welded to the frame rail! It really makes me wonder how itll hold there with the vibrations and all. (The mount is no problem and can take the beating for sure, but the stand needs to be holding the mount from both sides in my mind and the room i have doesnt offer that possibility) I mean, its at least 50 pounds!! It make me prefer to use the Monkey Fab exhaust flange/ mount i also got at some point (i REALLY tried a lot of options to make this work!!) as it makes for a way more robust mount in my case. Its sad 'cause the Maven mount is such a nice piece, but in my application its a bit crowded to use it nicely... so far.
Sorry for the long rant and thanks for dealing with my persisting interest...

How do you like that Ron Rhodes core support? I see that they just started selling them for a 2nd gen and figure it might help with making some room for my turbo filters and running the piping to the intercooler. Is the fit spot on? The project is coming along great from what I see
Thanks!!
Josh

Josh, the core support is well constructed, takes up a lot less room. I like it.
Mario, I just got home from a few days of work travel, I should be able to snap a pic or even take some video for you if you like. If you want to PM me your cell I can send a vid.

Great hotside pics... bout to finish up the hotside in a 1969 turbo 6.0 build this weekend and this gives me good ideas for finishing out the turbo placement
Rhodes has quality stuff for Nova's too
Where did you get the straight thermostat outlet??
