Default Installed long tubes, HELP

The car is constantly popping and running rich after installing the Edelbrocks. I can cruise along slowly, but any major amounts of Throttle causes the car to buck and sputter. Seems like it is running extremely rich, but the o2's are reading just a little lean (-5 LTFT). Sometimes the when the is popping the LTFT are going rich (up to +4)

I need help. I can't get my tune from Diablo yet on my car until I get a USB to RS232 connector. He sent me a tune to Adjust for the Newer injectors. I had to run open headers for about 15 miles to get back to the house. The o2's are about 1 1/2 from the opening. Would this kill the O2's? Also I think I read somewhere that the Rear O2's from a vette are good to use for the Heatingissue I've read about.

I have o2 sims also.

Sorry I can't help you with this, maybe try replacing the front O2's with the one's you took off the back to see if you have a bad O2 sensor? I would try posting in the PCM Diagnostics & Tuning section there are some bad *** tuners in there if they will help you.

I already did but I was trying it out here also to gaet all the info. I'm hoping this new tune from Diablo sport helps. My Rear O2 sims look a little funky.

it wouldnt kill em, it would make em rear wrong because they wouldnt be getting heated like they should.. least i think so.

what size injectors are you running?

A negative LTFT indicates you are running rich and positive lean.

i would double check all your connections, all the spark plugs and wires, if you havent done so yet. a lot of ppl run open headers without problems.

I finnally got it running right. Turned out I broke the Temp sensor when putting the header in. The plugs were also fouled out really bad. I can't say which is the problem, but new plugs, O2's and temp sensor and the car runs fine.

yeah it was most likely the temp sensor now that you mention it we had the same problem on my buddies camaro. double checking over everything can never hurt

If you have the Edelbrocks with the slip on collectors, be aware that they are most likely sucking air in through the cracks where the primaries slip into the collectors. This will totally screw with the O2 sensor readings, making tuning in closed loop nearly impossible. Best solution is to weld up the inside and outside of the primary tubes as they enter the collector. Sorry for the bad news. Do a search on Dyno-Tech headers or slip on collectors and you'll see what I mean.

I'm starting to hate the "slip on merge alot" Too much work, BUT I like the challenge. It's going to be a bitch to weld the inside up. As far as the out side goes, NADA. imposible to get to.
