fixing to do a m6 to th350 setup but i am extremely nervous. heres my situation. have a friend who was running a tci th350 in his 1994 lt1 car. i have a 1998 m6 and am getting his setup for my car. ive been told by some that his setup will swap right under my car with no problems. he has the th350, converter, torque arm mount on the tranny, the crossmember for the the th350, the cooler, and he is running a stock lenght driveshaft with the 9 inch tail. he is giving me his ENTIRE setup. but the fact that it is coming from a 1994 lt1 car into a 1998 ls1 car worries me. will i be alright swapping everything in or will there be some parts im getting from him that will not work under my car?

Default Hurst Quarter Stick-TH400 with stock A4 interior

Reused my A4 stuff as I didn't have the extra cash to the get the M6 stuff.

Me and my brother made the mount with some aluminum tubing, threaded rod and some nuts and washers, with a sheet of 16 guage steel to mount the shifter to.

Came out pretty good, went a bit far with the dremel in one or two places, but we really didn't have good pics of A4 set ups to go off of. I'm thinking of lowering it .5 in though, but for our first attempt I can't really complain

yeah, gooluck.. haha..jk.... There are like 10 bolts under there... Make sure that you take out the clutch master cylinder if you can because it really gets in the way.. Get a good light also because some of the bolts are kinda hard to see... There are like 5 or 6 on the firewall and a couple other that bolts up near the steering column.. YOU WILL HAVE TO UNHOOK THE STEERING COLUMN UNDER THE HOOD... It's a 10mm or 11mm (sorry going off of 6 month old memory since I did it) that bolts to the knuckle... Unbolt the two bolts under the dash and drop it out and pull a little.. This will help you get the higher bolts on the firewall and help you maneuver the bracket when you start pulling it out.. It's really self explanatory but just take it slow and if it's not budging then just look for more bolts/nuts.. goodluck..

This got way too loooong. I pared out most of the questions and tried to just leave the answers. A few will notice that your post shows it was editted. That was to quote the question you were responding too.

I'm looking at buying a 98 ws6. it has a turbo 400 automatic transmission. do i have to drive it differently than a regular automatic transmission? is this just an upgrade to the stock tranny or is it to replace a manual tranny? i know nothing about this thing and all of the stuff ive ready in this thread is over my head. any info would be great. thanks

Decided to go with a TH400, im looking for a used one on CL, is there a specific one I need to look for? I see some are longer, some shorter, some older, some newer... Anything specific? Thanks.

Has anyone used their transmissions?
