Car put down 455 uncorrected..... ran a 7.9 on motor

Fixed the tune and ran 7.6 on motor with the nitrous stall.

I am sure it was doing right around 475-480 corrected after the maf tune.
Is that 7.9 on motor in the 1/8th?

I don't want to start anything or sound like a jerk...but my AFR 205s and 224/224 .563/.563 114 cam did 7.86 @ 91. The car was never on a dyno with this set up but did 8.0 @ 89 with 392/381.

What was your MPH? You must not 60' very well and have a strong trap speed. I think your setup has more in it, what tire were you running, suspension? Fill me in.

7.9 @ 93mph with a 1.9 60ft...... on 28 tall 17 inch drag radials.

7.6 @ 94.5mph with a 1.7 60ft on the same tires after the maf tune.

To all of you guys making these 480+ HP numbers, at what RPM does your HP and torque peak?

What's the average torque from say 2500 rpm to 6000? Same for HP?

Seems to me everyone is getting caught up in the numbers, but no one has asked the important questions when it comes to a true street car.... I'm building a 408 motor, but I want it to be truely streetable and driveable. A motor that makes power from 5600-6500 isn't going to do me any good!

car ran a 6.48 at 108 on a 200 shot out the hole... I am not worried about the na numbers...... it needs a better converter to go faster on motor.... thirty two hundred stall on motor aint cuttin it!

That is haulin'...but I still think there is more in there NA. You can get it to 7.5 or 7.4 with a better 60', good numbers though. And I think you are right...more stall and you will be low, low 7's.

Maybe somebody should go through and put everybody's numbers in one new thread and eliminate all the extraneous info from this thread.

I think after 10 pages of this, the point in this thread has been lost.

I went through all ten pages last night. Other than a couple crappy dyno graphs my question is still unanswered...

I tuned a 408 a few weeks back, still had 241 casting heads on it, but a very nice sized cam (don't know the specs). TH400, 3.90:1 gear, all the other goodies. Only made 435rwhp on our Mustang dyno, but ran an 10.30 @130 two weeks ago with a 1.59 60'. There's more in it once the suspension is dialed in. Dyno numbers really don't mean much for race cars.

I'll have numbers for one of our 408's with Trickflow 225cc heads, and one of our custom cams in a 99 A4 Vette in about two weeks. Motor's here, just waiting to get a lift free.

Iron 408
11.2 comp
250 250 640 640 113
ET 245`s
526rwhp 482rwtq
A4, 12-bolt 3.73 gears
Set-up for nitrous 200 shot
Weight 3800lbs with me in it (me 210)
HKE built the motor
G-Force install and tune
Full inter/ A/C and all. Pure Street Car

With my stock bottom H/C and 100 shot I ran 6.9 1/8 at 99.8mph. I feel I make the same N/A power so I`m hoping mid 10`s N/A and low 10`s on my 200 shot!

Here is what my setup did on a stock intake manfiold, stock TB, shitty *** headers, 19" chrome heavy wheels, and 5 mushroomed valves

bigger numbers were on a 150 hit, the dyno lost signal for a second, thats what the huge drop spike is

(we sprayed after peak torque as it was lighting up the tires on the dyno)
