I need help with what to do next...
Power-wise:
Long Tubes and an ORY or hi flow cat. Anywhere from $500 -$2000 depending on what brand and if you do the labor yourself or not.
You can also do a pulley for a few hundred dollars. Easy install to possibly pick up a few ponies.
LS6 Intake will be a must at some point.
Ported throttle body, MAF. There are a lot of little bolt-ons, some designed to give you more power and some designed to make you quicker (ie launching, traction, etc). Some are for neither and are just to help your car not break, like subframe connectors. Lower control arms and relocation brackets for about $200 plus install will help with traction, but you need DRs first. If you're auto, a stall is a must, if M6, get a new shifter. The stock one isn't the greatest.
Etc, etc.

As for the catback, I read mixed reviews depending on which Flowmaster you have. You really can't beat the sound most of them, but they don't seem to be the best flowing catback out there.
then do cam ... stall .... intake ... gears ....
you could do a set of gears get some 3.73's of corse you need to tune that so your spedo isnt off I think that hand held you have can do that. Or a nice shift kit would be nice look at transgo shift kits I'd do one of those befor I got a pully, and I have a pully.
I'd say a grand is what you need to start messing around
